You pay for the expension a good 60$ if not more if you get the epic edition, you pay a sub 20$ per month and let’s be honest they built an ecosystem that force mostly everyone to buy a wow token 25$ once in a while to be able to afford all the consumes that the average player will want in order to play their game at a competitive level.
Now let’s talk about the in game store: They are selling a bunch of stuff that is otherwise UNACHIEVEBLE in game, at this time there is currently 6 different bundles of mounts and transmogs and other stuff each 40$ that are looking GORGEOUS and some like the transmog mount/AH mount that are huge quality of life that are being advertised to me.
In comparison the new content today just became available: Horrific visions time gated, 1 head enchant that will maybe give you 1% power increase and a vendor with recolored old items from BFA ?
At what point is it no longer ok that most of their effort is being spent on making you spend EVEN MORE money on stuff that you can’t get in their game playing it. If theses items interest you, all you can do is take your credit card and spend even more money.
The Quality of rewards for stuff that you can get playing their game compared to the quality of reward you can get spending in their store is just wild.
I know this post won’t change anything and probably no one will care but dam it feels HORRIBLE.
someone said in his chat they made a post about the exact thing he was talking about and here it is
so by his defintion, support a streamer is bad because its taking an item that could be earned in game, but you have to spend 20s on someone u don’t care for to get an item
Take what you pay per month (all in) and divide it by the number of hours you played. Now show me a form of entertainment that’s got a lower cost per hour.
The important thing is it’s different for everybody, but every step effects somebody
For me personally we’re getting pretty close, I do not personally feel I’m getting my money’s worth with TWW, then repeatedly getting insulted by microtransactions leaves a lot of resentment
All video games are cheap compared to traditional entertainment, when you compare them with each other WoW’s not very cheap
I have 1000s of hours in free counterstrike, 1000s of hours in free LoL, 1000s of hours in Satisfactory I got off G2A for like $6 etc
1, nobody is forcing anything on anyone sure, doesn’t stop that their Monetization model is predatory at best.
2. Yes the monthly subscription has in fact INCREASED trough the years so don’t go around saying inaccurate facts. In Canada it used to be 14.99 now it’s at 18,99 so a 4 dollar increase. Only in the US the price didn’t change.
Nothing on the game store has to be purchased. That’s just extra stuff that you can either buy or ignore
As far as subscriptions and paying for expansions you can get that all for free just by farming gold in the game and paying for it that way through a token.
Blizzard gives you a couple options here to pay for your game so that you don’t even actually have to put any money out of pocket at all so it’s really hard to take all this griping seriously as far as the money is concerned
Now if you want to talk about how you don’t like the gating and stuff like that maybe the bugs are a bit too much well that is a different topic.
As far as the cost of the game goes anybody here can farm gold and pay for their subscription and the expansion cost
I know because I farmed enough gold to buy three tokens very quickly last year just to see how long it would take
Didn’t take a month that was for sure
