Blizzard is asking us to submit name ideas for Servers. What names are the most faction-neutral?

There’s a faction of people who believe the name of a server influences the faction that is dominant there.

I don’t know if that’s true or not, but if it IS true, it’s in the best interest to make the server names neutral.

I don’t know who, because the article has a paywall, but one of the Blizzard employees was asking on Twitter what the names should be.

I’m specifically asking here what names would be best based on faction neutrality.

For example, the first thing that came to mind was Brann Bronzebeard, because he’s known the world over for being an explorer and a “discoverer”, but immediately conjures a fear that it would be Alliance dominated (even more so than the game already will be)

Would probably go with titan and/or watcher names. Something on the cosmic level that has zero slant towards either faction. Maybe names of enemies from neutral races that are also from higher level, neutral zones.

The hard part is finding something that hasn’t been used yet.

Maybe “Timbermaw Hold”, hinting at a future update?

I know “Blackrock” has been a server name before (for Retail) but maybe “Blackrock Mountain” for a PVP server?

Where do we submit this?

Can just name them after zones. Karazhan Crypts will be added, so can have a server called Karazhan. Hyjal also, if they’re adding Hyjal.

SoD: US East/West: pve/pvp

Doesn’t need to be fancier than that…

Maybe just Horde dominated pve/pvp, Alliance dominated pve/pvp so people don’t have to guess where they’re going to mass roll a single faction

Just make one server and name it “the sod server” cause any other servers will be dead besides “the one”

You all have this wrong, we need to name the servers after boars.

Pve servers

  • Longsnout
  • Barrens Boar
  • Mudbelly Boar

Pvp servers

  • bellygrub
  • Plauged Swine ( because pvpers are a plague)
  • Goretusk.

Lovely. However they’ve already said they’re naming it something lore related, so that’s the point of this post.

They can name it pink pony paradise. If that’s the main big server that’s where I’m playing

If it’s named that, that’s definitely where I’m playing.

But honestly, when we were faced with Barman Shanker vs Jom Gabbar, Jom Gabbar was the obvious choice.

I could smell from a mile that Barman Shanker would attract every 36 year old boomer in the area.
