Then I don’t understand why you would think someone that gets nauseous from dragon riding would want to go the same speed on their regular mount.
Slower is better.

The issue is balance. It is like saying why can’t one class be overpowered and you just play the way you like. If it is balanced, then I agree, if it is not then I don’t.
Because they’d be spending 10 minutes going between points. They wouldn’t be complaining about their sickness anymore, they’d be complaining about not being able to go as fast.
People with motion sickness aren’t stupid. Well, most aren’t. I’m pretty sure they know that to go as fast as a dragon rider they would have to deal with the same flashing and movement on the screen with their regular mount.
I don’t know that they can truly do this. I can’t play new versions of FP games because of my issue. I was sad when I had to give up OW because I couldn’t handle it. However, they could easily create a mount equipment, or a checkbox in the system settings that allow you to ride conventional vs DF. The other thing to consider is they are a long way away from making it so all mounts could be used for DR. They first have to see how much of a success it actually is. People having fun the first week of a xpac is a lot different than the last week of the xpac. If people are really only playing around with DR for a month or two, it is probably not worth the investment, so it would be silly to put all the $$ eggs in that basket only to have to revert everything back to conventional flying next xpac because no one uses the system.
Actually, the complaint would be not being able to get a hit in on a rare 9for example) because of the fact that others reach the target faster. But that is easily fixed by increasing the health of the rare so that It takes a long time to kill it. Then those of us who go the conventional flying route would be able to get there before it is dead.
There, problem solved. Any more problems you want solved? I’m on a roll of solving problems today! ![]()
So far I am not impressed with dragon riding. Not hard or motion sick, just not a fun mechanic. More a pointless layer of mechanics. And come the end of DF, it will become just another abandoned system that is never used again, like Covenants, Garrisons, Class Halls etc. I liked Class Halls, the whole idea created some class specific immersion. But nope, abandoned and never expanded on. Dragon riding will suffer the same fate.
I have had issues with it in the past and found that it was a screen size/smoothness of gameplay issue. I wonder if going 900% is just to much for your system or if it might be a monitor size /distance thing.
Not sure what they can do if that is not it really. Sorry you are having trouble though, that really sucks.
How about a compromise? Give people the option to enable Regular flight or go Dragonriding, Those that want the regular flight can have their thing and those of us who like Dragonriding can have our thing.
Going to put an action bar on a dragon mount, then it better have a dragon fire breath spell, that you can use to burn trash mobs up, and kill monster npc’s, or destroy faction bases/ cities. Dragon glide mounts in this expansion are just a stupid version of Barney, or puff the magic dragon
World of how to tame a dragoncraft lol. Godzilla dragon mounts Blizz. Make it happen ![]()
Thanks. I have a really good gaming laptop with a 17 inch monitor. The problem is my head
can’t seem to handle stuff like that.
I have found that if my friend rides her dragon and I ride along and just look at my phone or do something else while she does her thing, it works for us. Won’t help me when I start leveling my main but she is having fun with DR so it’s all good.
Err… we all have dragon mounts…
All the work and time getting mounts… not to mention people that actually paid real money for some…
then… Nope!! You can not use them anymore…
We should have a choice.
The new system is okay to a point… as one of the token old dudes playing ( yes I can be your grandfather! ) :
Change is only change until it becomes habit!
Still… want my normal flying back…
I love dragonriding but why would you force people that dont like a mechanic to use it just because you enjoy it, or better yet severely hamper their experience with an arbitrary limitation to their speed. Its a game for enjoyment so let people enjoy it the way they want. Paying for an expansion and subscription means my opinion on what constitutes fun is mine alone and shouldnt be used to dictate others how they should have fun.
I get motion sickness easily compared to most due to eye issues and i never have been effected by it with dragonriding… strange to here this is a complaint
You can use all yours collected mounts. I don’t understand this argument. You’ve always been locked out of flying early on in xpacs…
You’ll have your choice later on to fly at your 300% speed, while the people that actually learned how to use DR properly, whip by you at 700%.
There are posts out there for those that suffer from motion sickness, check them out. They’ve helped countless other people. Those settings essentially turn your experience to look like regular flying mounts.
Sigh, and how does other people using OG flight affect YOUR game? You can still use your dragon riding if you want. I just don’t get why some people are trying to kill something they won’t even have to use, and which shouldn’t take anything away from them. That boggles my mind.
Sorry, but I hate it.
Ion already stated back in April of 2022 in the Dragonflight reveal that regular flying would be enabled to use in the Dragon Isles during the Dragonflight expansion.
It’s happening regardless of whether or not you want it to. That’s 100% fact.
I agree with your post but lets not make up stats for the sake of an argument. it invalidates the whole statement.
gw2 introduced physics based flying only about 5 years ago.
and i LOVE IT IN WOW
1min cooldown. I use my soar more than my drake for questing as it is so cool just yeeting yourself out of the enemy lines.
Because Dragon riding is objectively superior. And, for your own sake, you need to stop living in the past. It’s sad.
