Blizzard just released a teaser trailer for player housing for the Midnight expansion.
In the trailer, you can clearly see a warrior in the remastered Wrath set putting down a rogue artifact skinned Thunderfury.
It’s highly unlikely that Blizzard would do this on accident so there must be some meaning to it that is currently not available in the game.
The most likely is that they will at some point open up cross-class transmogs.

One would think there was something more to it. But I suspect it was just “cool looking” and there was no Lore or Continuity expert involved.

Lol, you’re on joking right?

If they allow characters to mog across armor types, that would open a lot of venues for creativity. Would also let us recreate a lot of NPC outfits that combine armor types (like Crimson Battlemages wearing a combination of cloth, mail, and plate).
Hopefully not.
Because god forbid we retain any class identity. Nope, give judgement to the other plate wearers

Finally, hunters can have a good tier set.
No, thank you. The judgment set is overhyped and makes you look like some cultist. But I suppose some people are into that. Its pretty WH40k
Hunters able to transmog leather??? Sign me up!!

I could see them unlocking legion weapon for cross-class because after all, they are just weapons.
But tier sets will probably stay class-locked forever.

The wow community reads way more into these details than Blizzard intends.
N’Zoth was peak for this. I forget his name, but there was one YouTuber who got quite good traction by analyzing things as simple as textures on the walls.
Of course, all the theories were completely wrong.
Blizzard “hinted” at player housing by engraving Home Sweet Home onto a mug inside the most homely home you could think of. They don’t do subtle.
If they wanted to “hint” at cross-class transmogs, we’d have seen a Warrior going shopping for a Wizard Hat, putting it on, turning to the camera and winking.
I don’t want a set that makes me look like the featureless mooks that the main characters cut down by the dozens with no effort. If that’s the look you are going for, then congrats.
What’s the difference between that Thunderfury and the original Thundefury that everyone with 1hander access can wield? Other than newer/Higher rez
you do know that you can now wear all the class sets and class armor transmogs on every class right?
try to transmog the druid staff on a priest - you can do that right now.
webbed soulforge headguard (DK helm) can be mogged onto my warrior right now.
webbed soulforge girdle (DK belt) can be mogged to my warrior
webbed soulforge spaulders (Dk shoulders) can be mogged to my warrior
Webbed Soulforge devourer (two handed DK sword) can be mogged to my warrior
webbed soulforge eviscerator (one handed Dk sword) can be mogged to my warrior.
i can wear the entire DK class set on my warrior.
(I am speaking specifically about the class sets you could purchase from MoP remix - i cannot test the trader post sets because i never bought any of those - but i did buy every class set and weapon arsenal from MoP Remix)
i would assume that the trader post class sets (which are just recolors) would function the same way, though.
