There is very little ‘honor’ left in the horde. They just follow whoever, even to genocide. This would not happen if the story wasn’t completely dumb founded. Am I really to believe that after teaming up to defeat the Lich King and Deathwing the vast majority of horde players go derp and start following genocide orders? Dumb storytelling. Then right after defeating Argus they become okay with attacking the alliance? More dumb storytelling.
And during a Legion invasion Gen attacked and so on. Yes the writing in WoW is horrible.
Was the Alliance the bad guys during Cata for firing canons on Goblins? It was stupid writing too.
WoW’s (not Warcrafs) writing was never great, but people start to see it more clear nowadays. That’s all I’m going to say in this bait thread.
Unfortunately, Horde has always had bad people at the helm at one point or another. The whole idea of the Horde at its roots post the original orcish Horde, is its a disorganized people who band together for survival. The ideals on how to survive aren’t always to the benefit of the Alliance.
Since the end of BFA, the Horde has a council system kind of like the Council of Three Hammers. I think this will help, but not fully eradicate aggressors. There are also people on the Alliance side such as Daelin Proudmoore (Jaina’s father), Garithos, and a few others over the years who show that not all people agree with letting the Horde flourish either.
The whole point of Warcraft is war–whether it is the Lich King, HvA, or another force. It will happen. But judging how things are going, I wont be surprised if the Horde and Alliance dissolve more into racial coalitions or have a focus on them.
Horde players had 2 options:
- Play the faction they love to include being led by genocidal maniacs
- Not play
Hrrrrnnggh Warchief, I’m trying to be a hero, but I’m dummy badd and the crack of my villain bats keeps igniting a faction war.
Of course we did. We had to. We needed to reach the level cap too. Why you blaming us Horde players for playing the game the devs designed?
You are a silly.
Don’t forget we “heroes” of both factions genocide villages and what not for let’s say 10 silver.
Yes. Killing alliance is fun. My only regret is that we did not finish the Job.
Gawd, y’all are cheap. I charge a minimum of 20g for war crimes, transmog if it’s particularly heinous.
You guys need to remember; we’re Horde. We’re the experts here. We make our own prices. Stop letting the devs lowball you in your genocide contracts.
Yes, I’m saying the blizz writers messed up. I’m not rerolling all my chars into horde if they suddenly decide to make alliance the villians.
Yes. The Horde has been made into the jabroni of the piece. Seeing the Faction be abused and debased at Stormheim was one reason I switched my Main to Horde in Legion. It seemed apparent that not only would the Alliance attack with impunity, but the Horde will be painted as wrong even when they are being ambushed. I almost felt like the Horde needed Champions against the Alliance as well as the hostile narrative - as hopeless as it can be on both fronts.
I was all but consigned to being an evil doer loser just by even caring about the Horde’s story. But it felt like something worth fighting for. While the Alliance felt like Genn’s mercenaries under the guise of an Alliance. I can’t abide the Alliance’s warmongering hegemonic actions at Stormheim - the Burning of 1000 Teldrassils should not sate the vengeance of the Horde if it’s Warchief is ambushed in such an assassination attempt.
At least the Alliance’s ambush at Stormheim combined with Anduin’s cavalier attitude about Genn’s warmongering was mentioned in A Good War. That was nice.
Yup! We be a plot device to settup expansions in between the big-baddies! To give the heroes of the story something to do while not saving the World. May favorite BfA Quest was the one that compelled you to just give Sylvanas Xal’atath. You had no choice, “you just feel you had to”. Then Sylvanas gives it to Nate, Nate gives it to Azshara, Azshara gives it to Wrathion.
Wow … grade A writing Blizz.
That sounds just like the all the Hordes in the past.
Lol shoot you right dawg.
I’ll take Horde are dummy bad guys who go ZugZug over Horde-killing-Horde for Anduin any day.
I miss the days when we just killed forests and stuff for resources and the elves were like “stop that evil horde, you bad” and were just like, “but…resources, zugzug!” Time to attack your village or something. That was the height of horde gaming!
You missed something there, the alliance are the bad guys just the same. I remember some alliance guy saying something once. “There is no good, nor evil, just power.” Seeing how this is true then lets get more power!
She’s not blaming Horde players. She’s claiming the story was written badly and it is forcing Horde players to be bag guys by playing Horde.
Yes, but good luck having anyone at blizzard bother calling out the Alliance for their crap.
Pointing out that Jaina/Genn/Shaw/etc have ordered horrible things and are as bad of aggressors in the faction conflict as anyone would detract from the stories they want to push, so it all gets swept under the rug
Would you kindly…
ya, this sums it up nicely
