Blizzard has disabled the ability to delete your own account

I wonder why.

I say you should keep trying to delete yours, I believe in you.

Hasnt it been that way for some time?
Im sure this came up before like a year ago and I heard that accounts cant be deleted or something to that effect.

Either, too many people doing it at once and breaking authentication servers.

Or too many people doing it, then wanting their account back, flooding CS aid.

Probably both.

Its almost like they are doing people a favor. In a week nobody is going to be talking about this.

A lot of people were deleting their accounts, some posted the screenshots just last night.

I was going to once my sub is up on the 23rd but was also wondering if I should hold off on deleting to see if Blizzard gets sold again.

If/when the delete option comes back up, I think I’ll just go ahead. Strange though.

Because most/all will have left.

My server is still at high population so yeah mass exodus.

Doubtful. There are plenty of posts on social medias of people showing the process of their deleted accounts in protest.

So it was working, but they shut off the authentications required to do it, likely because it was being spammed.

It’s because these people realize they can’t live without WoW the day they delete their account. so CS is flooded lul.

You have never had the ability to delete your own account battle.net account, it was only recently added as a ticket option. Since it is not something that can be undone, they want to make sure it really is you requesting this. I believe it was done by email before they added the option to the support page.

just covered above… nevermind…

When you inundate a system with mass requests, it causes issues.

Yeah you definitely can. Sounds like they’re making you send a photo of a government ID to do it, though.

I could make a new account then delete it too for fake internet points…

Because you totally can’t delete your account and document that it, then reverse what you did. Getting social credit with no cost.

See every content creator that “deletes” their character only to restore them later off camera.

I guess it’ll become apparent very soon whether people really left or not.

I think they did. But time will tell. GL with your game.

You can’t, though. Unless you’re seriously suggesting that people are sending a ticket in to delete their account and then sending another one in to restore it, and the reps are actually doing it(and capable of it).

Are people so pathetic they lack the self control to just unsub, delete and walk away?

Some say throwing your computer out the window accomplishes the same thing… Try it out
