Blizzard has a Bot problem, still

Everywhere I look in game, it’s nonstop gather bots. The usual team is two druids on autopilot all day long. Non stop farming. How is this a thing still?

Also, the 4x4 skinning/farming groups are still mostly scripted and bots. How is this also a thing still??

Blizzard has ZERO transparency for these things and it’s criminal.

We must ban all druids

Why does Blizzard have to discuss these things with you, a player?

Debatable, no one is going to prison.

Just report and move on. That’s all you can do.

If we didn’t have shady players buying gold on shady websites, there wouldn’t be any bots.

I guess that makes Blizzard’s site a shady one, since we can now buy gold (in)directly from them!

Does Blizz deploy bots to farm gold?

Will Blizz hack your account and steal your CC info?

Well?

My apologies. It seems my joke was taken to be literal and serious. :dracthyr_sweat:

That was you joking?

Oh man, my bad.

Might wanna work on that though, cus it wasn’t very funny.

Wrong. Who pays for everything at Blizzard? The paying customer.

The bot problem takes away from every node spawn that legit, paying players is trying to use. It trashes the gameplay experience, it trashed the Auction House.

Blizzard will ban you in a heartbeat if you use ‘strong language’ but somehow cheating/bots is cool.

*nice slackass troll response though.

It’s a shame that tone doesn’t come across very well in text. Quick! Deploy the emojis! :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

They (You) pay for server access only, you have no say in day to day operations. Report and move on.

Report and move on. They deal with bots the proper way. Sigh Here we go again. I wonder how many times I will have to post this. From a former Blizzard employee who worked on the hacks team.

A sub is a sub

Bots are part of the game. These bots have been playing longer than you have. lol

Bots don’t pay subs. They never have and they never will. This type of botting is done by gold sellers on stolen accounts. They have tens or hundreds of thousands of stolen accounts, and they activate them with stolen credit cards. So not only does Blizzard not get that money, they end up with a net loss because of the chargebacks.

This is organized crime cartels, that also deal in drug money, money laundering, credit card fraud, and terrorist financing. It’s a multi-billion (billion with a b) dollar a year business, and bots in MMO’s are just one facet of what they do. This isn’t just a couple bored teenagers in their mom’s basement.

There’s several reasons as to why bots are banned in waves and it’s been covered many times. I’m unsure if there’s even a horse left to beat at this point.

Also, if they shared in depth info on how they detect and handle bots, that would be giving away free information to the botters.

There was someone who came out with a youtube video explaining that not all bots are running on the same exact script and run on let’s say, up to 10 “mutations” of that script/ program.

Warden catches one of the mutations and bans those bots but then the other 9 mutations are still running with no issues.

So Blizzard IS banning bots but many are still getting through their detection.

Well I’m clearly living 20 years past my prime, but what are people expecting Blizz to do? I think it would be impossible for them to catch them all.
