Also, haven’t you ever noticed the colors of other players’ names that appear above their heads? If they’re on the same faction as you, they’ll be blue. If they’re on the opposite faction as you, they’ll be orange. Then of course, there’s PVP; in which the ones on your side are the ones you can’t attack. The ones who aren’t on your side are the ones you can attack. In either of those cases, it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out which type of elf was which.
Careful, on top of fighting fire with fire being a terrible way to combat toxicity.
The Anti side are the last people to be calling on questionable opinions when you continuously show to question established lore sweetheart.

Hate to disagree with you but Blizzard WANTS to keep everything just like every other fantasy setting.
Orcs go back to being crazy murder hobo hit by the villain bat every other expansion. Don’t get me wrong, I want Thrall’s Horde back but Blizzard will not let us have it. They want a BS faction war with the Horde as evil
Gnomes have been steampunk techno since Dragonlance. I haven’t seen them sit on toadstools since the 70s.
Why are werewolves ALWAYS British? (yeah nitpicking here but seriously why?)
Why are the undead always evil and wanting to kill the living? If we can turn elves on their head and make them evil (without losing the fair skin and the blonde hair - I mean there are Dark elves) how about we change the Forsaken into the purest of the pure trying to save the rest of the living races? Or is that too radical?
Maybe just maybe it really was just about giving a pretty race to the lesser played side.

Blizzard is like that guy who is happy to give you what you want, buuuut they know how to “make it better, don’t worry you’ll love it, it’s so cool” and end up not really giving you what you want. Just giving you what they think is interesting. And this is coming from someone who prefers the void elves.
Like I want a pepperoni pizza, so I ask my buddy to order one for me, but he takes liberties and orders a bunch of crap I didn’t want because he’s convinced I’ll enjoy it more. That’s Blizzard.
Easy. We don’t merge the factions, and just give the Alliance the High Elves we already have within the Alliance.
I think it’s wishful thinking on your part, but there are less likely things in game to wish for, I suppose.
It made a difference to me because one of my favorite dual class was a gnome fighter/illusionist. I was shocked when they went techno. When EQ came out and I got to see it in all its glory, I finally accepted it.

I will say, don’t watch the cartoon. I loved everything Dragonlance or TSR back in the day, but that cartoon was rough.
