Why you giving them free advertising though?

Decline?

The gold sellers only exist because of the scumbags that buy their product.

If blizzard would get rid of those scumbags, the gold sellers will no longer have a market for their product and would go somewhere else.

Why would they do that? You know how many subs they get from the gold farmers? Those guys have to have a few accounts on on both factions on every server.

Blizz has absolutely no incentive to get rid of them.

For now I would just disable channel invites. That will take care of the problem for you immediately.

It would be helpful to tell people how to do that.

Interface Options->Social->Block Channel Invites

I mean, it takes 2 seconds to find and is in a logical position, not everything needs to be spoonfed.

You can go in game to Interface-Social, then check block chat channel invites. I did that very shortly after starting playing Classic and tbh I forgot this was a thing that gold sellers did.

I dont even want to disable it. Reporting them for gold spam is very satisfying to me, knowing that theyll lose the account theyre spamming on

It’s kinda like how puppy mills will always exist because people are willing to pay thousands of dollars for a dog. If there’s a market for it, it will always exist.

You still see the invite in your chat-window, so you can still right-click report. It just stops popping up the obnoxious sound+window when they invite you.

Oh, ok. I was leaving it on so I could get em back. If this is the case ill probably disable it then

In which case they’ll just use another hacked account, by all means, report away, but it’s a huge problem not easily solved. Until people learn not to give their password to random websites and buy gold it’s going to continue.

LMAO, you expect Blizzard to do now what they haven’t done in the 15 years this game has been around?

Really?

Well both the gold spammers and the accounts stolen deserve to be banned. I dont care otherwise. They cause me a minor inconvenience, i will cause them a more major inconvenience

When you figure out an answer, let every multiplayer game with currencies know, i’m sure everything from Path of Exile to WoW to FFXIV would love to know how to stop gold spammers

Thanks man!

This has always been a thing. Ignore it.

You can turn off channel invites through the default interface.
