Blizzard Gear Store - are those items typically limited edition?

There’s a lot to be said about the number of mounts and pets that were tied to promotions in the last few months… but the Gear Store ones were particularly annoying.

First, I found out the hard way that the store would ship physical items to a non-US address, but the actual promotional item itself was only available if mailed to a US address.

So I got a Funko pop I don’t particularly care for, and ended up having to spend a crapton of gold getting a friend to buy a second one.

And then we got the Thrall plush/Gill’el promotion. I learned my lesson the first time, read through the terms and conditions carefully and saw the same clause, and reached out to a friend. Friend said they’d order on Friday. The promotion launched Tuesday. It sold out by Thursday and never restocked. So much for that.

Is that stuff usually limited edition or are there any plans to reuse that specific pet?
Kind of made a serious hobby out of collecting… haven’t done much since siren isle patch, but I was as high as top #50 collection at one point… so this one kind of sucked.

You’re the first person I’ve ever seen complain with a collection worth a dang - respect. Most other people I say “you won’t ever have everything in the game, don’t worry about it”. But you’re a different level. Also, nice achievement count - gonna be working on the new Farewell to Arms BFA meta?

That being said, you don’t have the vanilla CE pets or a bunch of the Murky pets - might be healthy to just let a few go. You still have a great collection.

I think that’s historically been the case, yeah.

The code? That’s WILD - sorry to hear that happened to you. They should make that more obvious on the product page, if it wasn’t.

Thanks for the collection compliments, lol.
Hard to let em go, but might not have a choice. Ugh.

I don’t think I’ve missed a promo pet since I got into collecting back in Wrath. The combination of not being able to order this one myself, and then the rather limited production run that sold out within 48 hours just screwed me over.

And that was exactly what happened - I didn’t get emailed a code (a friend said they got one immediately), I started looking at the terms in detail and saw that it wasn’t available outside of the US. So yeah, they’ll ship you the product, but won’t give you a code. It’s not like fine print, but I think they should definitely have a warning right on the order page.

I actually tried to cancel the order within like 15 minutes, but it was on a weekend, and my request didn’t get processed. At least I’m in Canada so I didn’t get screwed on shipping too hard, I know of at least one person from Australia this happened to, and others in EU.

I’m currently going very hard on a grind for Bucketshell/Sir Snips pets (which is a whole other complaint that I’m not going to get into detail on), goal is 5 honor levels a week for the next eight months or so, Farewell to Arms is on the to-do list, but I can’t see it being finished any time soon.
