Blizzard is the nicest and most generous company in the Entire Industry, and not just In Gaming! I am not surprised at all that they would be so charitable to the Luckiest Fanbase the Universe Has To Offer

They’ve been giving away expansions for like a decade now. People didn’t like having to purchase each and every previous installment just to hop in and play endgame.

They’ve never given away a free expansion and a boost before. Expansions were baked into the game when a new one came out, but that’s not giving it away for free. People that don’t want to pay for a certain expansion under this system would have to wait two and a half years to play the game again.
It is extremely telling that Blizzard is simply giving away shadowlands free of cost along with a BOOST. Valuable assets aren’t given away for free. That should tell you everything you need to know about shadowlands.

They only give the expansion away when it’s no longer relevant content (I.E. in prepatch). I’m guessing player retention is severely lacking so they’re doing whatever they can to get players back into the game for season 4.

Yeah, I figured this was a way to get Classic players (the better version btw!) into Retail thinking they get both, when really its a free bost, and an expansion a few months early.

Classic is always free with a sub /shrug
I don’t see the big deal. SL was going to be free as soon as prepatch hits which is not too long from now. The 50 boost is fine if for an alt or if you havent played the game in a long time, but you still have ten more levels to go before you hit end game. Really much ado about nothing .
Pointless?! The ugly slime cat that doesn’t fly is the greatest gift Blizzard has ever bestowed upon us.

No. It’s only for accounts that have previously purchased one of the older expansions and do not have an SL license anywhere else on their Bnet account.

Well lumping old expansions into the monthly sub has become standard, a free boost is not.
Your subscription covers all xpacs prior to the current one. They just are allowing people access to the current one a few months early.
It’s just for old, returning players to give them incentive to resub by giving them a free boost.
