so while this topic can be said for all of blizzard story/lore heavy games, I’m making this generally because of WoW.
i’m lucky enough to have a group of friends that play this super nerdy game called dungeons and dragons ,maybe you heard of it, and we all hhave ran campaigns, myself included. but while they have…a surprisingly high amount of books to use (I honestly didn;t know star wars had books for dnd) it’s both depressing and frustrating that WoW, with all their lore hasn’t come out or made a downable pdf of their world offically. it’s a easy product seller as well as a community growing thing (and quite frankly, i think if the story devs played a campaign or 2 it might help with they storytelling for the game…OCs excluded) .
buut yeah this is just my pointless attempt someone at blizz see’s this and takes it under consideration.

They did. White Wolf published a WOW based table top D20 rpg sometime back in the 2000’s I think. There were several books.

White Wolf of course wrote things in a way that contradicted Blizzard’s intended story at the time.
Incidentally Shadowlands is getting an in depth Lore-book just for that specific Cosmic Realm!
Seems Blizzard is making especially sure to get Shadowlands’ story out of the way as soon as possible since this Expansion might easily be the only time we visit this Cosmic Realm(which is not to be mistaken for the Realm of the Dead where Players go when they die as that is where Kyrians grab Souls to take to the Shadowlands).
There was a set of Everquest table top rule books also years (and years ago)ago. I should check to see if there is a Fallout series books. But I will forget.
Also the Bradygames books. I remember those.
Guess i was to young to know about this. but it’s also now 20 years old and severely out of date for both WoW and DnD rules, soooo yeah, a new book would still be appreciated and well…i think great.
I was working on converting classes that didn’t already have some kind of representation to 5E a while back. I got about 2/3s done with Shaman before the group who I was doing it for had to stop due to adulting. Fortunately, most WOW classes are already represented in some way in 5E; It’s pretty much only Shaman and Demon hunter who are not, though an argument could be made that Demon hunter is a Rogue subtype.

It would be nice if Blizz came up with an updated tabletop rules book for WoW, especially since D&D and tabletop RPGs in general have gained a resurgence. A problem I could foresee is Blizzard’s habit of retconning things. They aren’t what I’d call consistent. Especially compared to the likes of D&D.
That’s pretty cool! Thanks for sharing.
