Blizzard, for SoD, add built-in system for viewing and tracking parses

Not everyone is a slow-mouth breather-low energy dad gamer.

You haven’t been paying attention.

I would agree that if their entire game is going to be based on parsing culture, they need to have an official outlet for it. However of course that will destroy the game aside from a very small percentage of players.

It’s a better route for Blizzard to eliminate the ability to parse. Not that there’s anything wrong with parsing, or enjoying that play style; it just ends up attracting horrid communities that ruin games.

You need logs to figure out classic wow??

Only low skill players want this

Addons, whether you agree with their intent or not, add to this base game and make it better. If an addon and exists and is popular, that usually means there is some functionality missing from Blizzard.

Addons are usually optional. Parsing nonsense is being pushed on everyone, even those who don’t directly participate. which is why I hate it.

People have a right to bring people to their raids who are competent and not a drag. Some BFD pugs that are bad can take up an hour for a place that doesn’t take more than 20mins

You think I’d post in the forums on anything I parse well on?

I’ve made top 10 parses in multiple phases of content. It’s not advanced gameplay. It’s highly selfish play and the majority of the parse comes from the kill time on boss, something that encourages cheesing. There is a reason “speed run” records in other games put caps on mechanic cheesing to qualify, warcraftlogs ignores most corner cutting or puts off addressing it long after the parse is already locked in…

BFD is a glorified dungeon. The only requirements to clear it are to follow mechanics and not be AFK. Who cares if the raid takes 5 minutes longer than normal? You gonna start looking up logs before inviting someone to a group quest next? This behavior is incredibly toxic and bad for the game.

I wonder if someone could just do this with an addon

The kind of people that put that much stock in parses for Classic, a recreation of one of the most casual MMOs ever made, let alone for a level 25 dungeon, typically latch onto Classic parses because it’s the lowest hanging fruit their ability will allow them to reach.

Yeah, as long as the boss dies and loot drops I’m happy. I couldn’t care less what my parse was.

clown :pig:  :troll:

In a post not long ago by this very same OP (Garmuck), he said he did not know what a “gray parse” meant, or who would care !

The huge issue with parsing BFD is the high/unlimited add spawn mechanics on some bosses completely messing up parsing because of everyone who abuses it.

Basically all top parses are from groups with people who go engineering, intentionally spawn 40+ adds all at once on aku then get 1600+ dps spikes using bombs. Or keeping all the murlocs alive on LJ so they can bomb them with the boss.

People abusing stuff like that will always make your parse a completely meaningless number.

The real thing you should look at is DPS. And if you want to be try hard, buff uptimes.

Why not? It literally gives you credibility.

What are you gonna use loot for? Easier pvp? It becomes irrelevant next phase/expansion

Counter-argument: Make it harder to track dps. Throw in some entirely random dps mechanics in each fight to ruin parsing.
