Here me out.
M+ is in a dangerously perilous state right now.
The reasons are below.
1) Titan forging and free loot are creating an inflation of ilvl and skill level. Most people doing normal Uldir and 3's and 4's are getting into that 370+ ilvl range. It's not hard. but when they hop into Mythic 8's and 9's.... they get stomped. And groups fall apart..
2) This inflation of ilvl forces players to use an addon such as raider IO to get a better assessment of skill. But it's far from perfect, and with people creating such high demands on raider IO (think of the problem of finding an entry level job but you need 5 years experience for it metaphor) it just gets harder to get into good groups.
3) The above inherent design flaws of the game only get compounded when you look at the fact that a lot of actions ave been pruned, taken away or added to the GCD. Blizzard intentionally slowed and dumbed classes down to what I can only assume is to appeal to more casual people.
4) But while doing that they decided to design dungeons in a way where trash and M+ would be a lot more difficult than Legion was.
These four key issues are why M+ is broken and will go the way of the elite.
Now I know people will argue to get your own group or do it with friends. Which I do.... but there's always a situation where people have to pug because friends or guildies quit wow or people got burned out on these crappy dungeon designs...
agree or disagreee but M+ this xpansion was overcompensated for and the design team really doesn't know how to look at the bigger picture and how other changes affect this game.
I mean.... i guess blizzards motto of "it's ready when it's ready" no longer applies and is more like "we'll test everything before patch 8.1....maybe get all the fixes in by 8.1.5.... but probably a full release ready expansion will be 8.2....yea....8.2 for sure"....

Titanforging and catchup gear is a huge problem right now. People are easily out gearing their skill level and are flopping in mythics that yes, are appropriate for their gear, but are way beyond their skills.
This isn't a matter of lolgitgud. It's okay to not be as good as someone else. But this is why the problem is so prevent right now.

We need a proving ground for M+
From the looks of this forum they dropped the ball on a lot of stuff this expansion.

100% agree. It feels like in legion they designed dungeons and then dded M+ to it. Meanwhile in BFA it's like they thought to themselves.... how can we make these dungeons difficult in Mythic plus.
I just find it funny that I can get into heroic raids and roflstomp the dps charts, but can't get into an M+7 because of my low score.
I care less and less, every day. I only log in for raids at this point and I'm desperately searching for a game that gets me hooked so I can unsub WoW.

Not to be that guy.... but almost my entire guild is now in FFXIV. And we're loving it.
This proving ground needs to have every affix imaginable (not just the weekly assortment), 1-2 affixes randomly per trash pack, all trash must be cleared or the bosses will summon the skipped packs when engaged, and an appropriate timer.

Totally. They don't feel as organic as they used to. There's a clear logic to their layout, and it all feels so manufactured, which lessens the immersion. In trying to force their new eSports baby, Blizzard removed what made dungeons special for the rest of the playerbase.

This. I actually enjoyed (most) of Legion's dungeons and didn't mind running mythics. The few I've done in BFA weren't fun -- at all.
And standing in poop in the proving grounds should reset it if the affix combo is sanguine plus grevious. Just saying.

Everything in BFA is Seat of the Triumvirate x 10. When e sport happens, the game changes to defend against the hyper success of it.
You can't design progression because your game is on E sport life support. Your e sport players need to quickly be able to compete or they get angry and cry and your life support weakens.

Yep this exactly. It does not feel rewarding at all and it's not fun. For me it's mostly about the trash.
1. Fortified just makes 10+ keys take a long time
2. Trash mobs that spam AoE abilities like Bladestorm bro in King's Rest of the Shipbreaker Storm in Shrine. As a melee player I often find myself just sitting around waiting for this !@#$%^- mob to stop channeling his constant aoe spells, and I can't even play the damn game.
3. Sanguine interacts awfully with just about every single dungeon. And that's IF you have a blood dk. Don't have a DK? L M A O, good luck.
I dunno man, I just don't like it. The actual dungeon offers basically zero reward now, and the weekly chest quickly reaches a place where it gets disenchanted a lot. And then the trash design is not enjoyable on top of not being rewarding? I don't even do M+ on any alts because I just don't care enough and it's not fun.
So if I understand this, Mythic + isn’t fun anymore because players can progress their ilvl from it and you may get bad players in higher keys.
So what would happen if TF is removed and the same players find other avenue to gear progress?
