The system is so much better than bfa, people actually have a reason to play bgs, and the season hasnt yet begun , so dont listen to the people crying about dying please! just keep things the way they are, dont bring scalling, its so unfun and removes the effort from the players, the pvp is perfect at shadowlands!!

It’s definitely not perfect but I’m enjoying myself. I haven’t seen a mass exodus of people /afk because they lost the first team fight. People seem to throw their body at the wall even when its an obvious loss.
The quality of the bg vs past two expansions has definitely improved in that regard.

It only has a purpose right now because people aren’t in M+ and Mythic raiding gear.
The honor vendor will quickly become irrelevant and only PvE gear and high rated conquest gear will be worth anything in PvP.
Unrated PvP gear should get a higher ilvl in PvP compared to PvE so it can get you on a decent level quickly once people are in higher ilvl PvE gear.

1600 rating would net you some pretty good gear. Saying only high rated is a bit of a stretch.

You could be 100% equal with 0 rating in MoP so I personally find anything less to be a garbage system.
Some people don’t care about rated PvP, but they’re all fighting the same people in BGs. None of them deserve to have a power advantage.

This is exactly how it should be. Honor gear should hit a certain peak where conquest gear then surpasses that. Honor gear is meant for “just hit 60, let’s get some decent gear to get me started.” Definitely not meant to be competing with M+ / Conquest gear.
I pray they don’t change that. It’s a good system.

I agree with you, except with the premade spams going on, 8/10 BGs, are alliance Sarg and Emerald dream premades where they somehow circumvent the 5 man limit.

Yes, but the difference is that in MoP and I think WoD, conquest gear had no rating requirement.
I think the conquest upgrades have rating requirements in Shadowlands. On top of that, they removed conquest from non-rated PvP, which was not the case in the past either.
Honor gear is meant to give PvEers some easy throwaway gear they can use to move up in PvE. It’s also designed to lock low information players out of group content, because by the time they find out what a mistake it was getting that gear and grinding to upgrade it, for them it will be too late.

The system is terrible and barely functions before week 2.
When people start getting M+ gear, raid gear, conquest gear; then it will be worse than bfa.
Random bgs are already way worse because they are filled with premades

I am still very intrested to see what the conquest cap will even be, per week. We dont know.
We could be able to only get 1 piece per week, 1 small piece.

Rating Locked PVP gear, without a PVP stat, was always going to be a diaster. Everyone was so focused on “Muh Vendors” and completely missed the bigger picture.
You need 2k to get Herioc Raid Tier gear.
Getting 2k at the season start and holding it for the Average player, GL lol. Raiders will be getting Herioc gear LONG before 99.9% of the community gets to 2k.

No it does not. The generic unrated gear that you buy from the PvP vendor gives you normal raid gear. Both are 200ilvl.

I don’t think there’s any news on the upgrade rate for Conquest gear. It wasn’t activated on the beta so nobody knows. We can probably assume that it’s 3-4 levels upgrade per rating bracket increase, given that it starts at 200 and would cap around same ilvl as mythic raid gear.

Just about all of them have vers and you will have three items to pick from if you only pvp’d that week and fully capped.
But hey I understand if you want to scream the sky is falling. Go for it.
