Here we are again… another round of class tuning and 0 monk changes.
I’m telling y’all, this is a sick game of limit testing how much abuse a spec can take before they reroll or unsub.
Keep in mind this round of class tuning is “informed by class performance over the first two weeks of the season”, so if there are any questions about monk’s place in current content it has been answered with this.
- Bottom 5 on most raid fights
– Parsing Purples/Oranges just to get dumpstered by Greens/Blues
- One of the Worst M+ specs
– Top monks in the world casually getting 100k+ dps zonewide dropped on their domes
- Pvp - No idea, I haven’t really pvped much outside of world pvp, so maybe we’re ultra god tier in this category? Or maybe not. I’ll do some this week and find out.
Now I can get to the post I actually wanted to write and that I thought about after posting part 1.
Monk interactions with externals feel all but forgotten. It’s as if when they add these into the game they go out of their way to make sure WW gets nothing from them.
- Lust - Nothing
- Pi - Nothing meaningful. You’ll never get it and honestly you don’t want your class to need it. So in a way this is good.
- Windfury - This is actually a joke. It is the 2nd worst simmed damage increase by a whole 949 damage. Guardian Druid gets 4.5k.
- Aug Evoker buffs - I will quote their guide " Do not buff on opener.". It should actually expand past opener to never.
Another point I wanted to bring up is the fact that the borrowed power we gain from each tier feels like a Band-Aid which sometimes takes 1-2 big patches to remove.
Slowly and painfully. So while other classes are running around having fun with new stuff you’re stuck with 20 ilvl below items because they give you too much ST damage to replace.

- Primordial Stones
- Seal of Diurna’s Chosen
- The BACON
- Slimy Boots
- Storm Eaters Boon
Having a good portion of your damage come from (non class damage) items feels terrible. Especially when you have to either hold on to them for way too long or they get nerfed into the ground and you don’t get any compensation for it until 2-3 weeks after.
Keep fighting the good fight fellow WW Monks our 2% overall damage, 5% RSK increased damage and 10% spiny kicky attack damage buffs are on the way!

I’d like to say you play a class not a spec and monk is very viable. You also can’t forget that monk brings more group buffs than any other class.
This is such a fried/lazy take…

So not using your class to its full potential but only focusing on one aspect of it is the lazy take now?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with only playing one specific spec of a class, especially when it’s an entirely different role than the others.
Brushing off people’s concerns with, “just play the other specs 
” is what I referred to as lazy.

So you’re suggesting that the OP is complaining about the entirety of Monk, when the post was very clearly directed towards Windwalker?

When they say “monk” not WW the yes. Its not like they can’t differentiate between the two as they do so later in the post.
I would recommend you read the title of the post. If you’re going to roleplay as psuedo-intellectual forum poster, you should at least be able to infer that they’re talking about Windwalker.

This is indeed a lazy take. Some people play Druid (your class btw) and never touch more than 1-2 specs.
You’re exhibiting some pretty narcissistic behavior in assuming everyone else thinks the way you do.
I happen to like all monk specs but windwalker is really in a weird place and needs some attention. (Has for a while now actually)

The answer to someone saying “I love my spec and just want it to get some love” isn’t to say “just heal sweaty.” Some of us, believe it or not, do not enjoy healing or tanking and pay $15/month to play and just want to be able to do that without hitting a hard wall of design flaws.

It’s ok, Memberberry really struggles with context and I guess at this point the ability to use that big brain of theirs. If I don’t write “Windwalker Monk” every single time I refer to Windwalker Monk then they get really confused and are unsure of if I’m talking about Brewmaster, Mistweaver, or even Monk from Final Fantasy XIV.
Memberberry consistently has terrible takes that can be boiled down to the statements below:
- Players always complain when their class/spec isn’t #1 DPS in all content, so all you want is your class to be #1 and OP
- If you can get 3k IO and CE on your class/spec then you can’t point out things that are wrong with your class/spec because its viable
- If the class you are playing has 1 performing spec you can’t say anything at all about the other specs because you need to switch to best one
Memberberry wants everyone to stop sharing feedback/opinions and just play their class/spec and if there’s anything wrong with it you should just change class/spec.
Memberberry got clapped in the other forum post I made, so I guess it makes sense that they get clapped in part 2?

Can’t use your class to its full potential if your raid has 2 tanks and your group is already overhealing a fight. Sounds like a great design.

Its more like having Coke, Mt Dew, and Root Beer. (Tank, Healer, DPS)
Whereas something like Warlock is Coke, Vanilla Coke, Diet Coke (All DPS)
Having your only option for Root Beer sucking if you dont like Coke or Mt Dew sucks
