Please stop being so incredibly inept. Why do we have nearly hour long queues, win 5 rounds and get nothing when the dog water players you match us against rage quit and screw the other 5 people?
Flex Queue
- 5v5 Arena
- 1 healer and 4 dps
- Healers deal 100% increased healing and take 50% reduced cc duration
- Dampening stacks up at twice the usual speed as a normal 3v3 arena
- You can queue with a party of 1-5 players and any missing players are automatically filled in based on your CR
- 1 round per game not 6
- If you like your team and have good synergy then you keep queuing with them. If anyone leaves their replacement gets automatically filled in
- If you like your teammates add them to BNET and flex queue with them again next time you play
- Add in game voice chat with all the same functionality and features as Overwatch. Allow players to opt out of voice chat it they wish
- Matchmaking uses the average CR of the entire team to fill in empty slots and to find suitable enemy teams
Basically just copy Overwatch/ Deep Six.
Blizz needs to remove the requirement for healers on teams. If 2 healers can’t be matched up appropriately, then do 3 dps v 3 dps.
3v3 DPS is so lame man, I’ve seen this suggestion mentioned a lot but I’ve seen twice as many people vocally against this (myself included). The meta for 3v3 DPS would entirely be dh/monk/ret/dk and every game would be a 1 shot fest over in the first 10 seconds.
This is why in my suggestion I say it should be 1 healer and 4 DPS per team. This way the matchmaking only needs to find 1 healer per 4 DPS instead of 1 healer per 2 DPS and this I assume would result in much shorter queue times for DPS players.
Maybe my suggestion sounds too wildly different for people to accept, but it pretty much already exists in the game anyway. Deep Six is a 6v6 brawl mode with 1 healer and 5 DPS per team, and every time I played that brawl it felt really well balanced, fun and competitive despite it being unranked only.
Bring back tank queue, add check boxes to queue for healer matches or tanks and healer matches. Let the wooden brain meta 3s clowns pout in queue and let everyone else have fun :^)
Healers getting trained by 4 dps doesn’t sound fun.
CC reduction ain’t stopping that lol.
Especially in mid/high solo shuffle where the dps have an idea of what’s going on.

I played a fair bit of 5v5’s back in mop and that almost never happened. There’s 4 other teammates to peel for you. I’m also suggesting 100% healing buff so if 1 healer can currently outheal 2 DPS, then 100% increased healing should allow them to outheal 4 DPS no?
100% healing isn’t going to save the healer from 4 moonkins pressing incarn+starsurge at the same time and 1shotting them.
Literally never saw that happen in 5v5’s. It was almost always 2 healers 3 dps or sometimes 3 healers 2 dps and most games had to go to dampening. Any team that tried to 1 shot with 4 or 5 dps got easily outhealed and lost very quickly.
This would still create a massive imbalance once players start to die off.

MoP was a very long time ago.
In solo queue the round ends as soon as a single player dies though, so how is this any different. Also I did say dampening stacks at twice the usual speed so I don’t see that as a problem.
Have you pvp’d recently? the game is entirely different, the skills/bursts/rotations/CC are different.
5v5 solo shuffle with 1 healer will never work.
If your last PvP/shuffle/arena experience was 11 years ago, your opinion has little merit unfortunately.
Hopefully if nothing else solo q prompts them to actually address class design rather than continuing the stagnation of legions overhaul.

Half of our talents are just copy pasted azerite traits, artifact power, or conduits theyve moved over. Another quarter are cherry picked borrowed powers from various iterations.

Right but Dampening can be tweaked to a suitable level to balance any game mode. The purpose of dampening is so games don’t go on forever. They could just make it so dampening only starts to come into effect after the arena has gone on for 3 minutes or something.
I’m just imagining the unpleasant experience of being a solo healer at 70% dampening against 2 dhs, a dk and an spriest while getting stun silenced feared incapped gripped sleeted ![]()
- 1 really bad healer = all dps go 3-3
- 1 really good healer who shouldn’t even be at that rating = all DPS go 3-3
- 1 really good DPS who dunks on all the other DPS = all DPS go 2-4 and both healers go 3-3
- 1 really bad DPS = everyone bullies him and everyone goes 4-2
- 1 melee player in a lobby with 3 other casters = melee guy gets bullied and goes 0-6
- 1 caster in a lobby with 3 other melee = caster guy gets bullied goes 0-6
Almost every solo game turns out to be one of these scenarios - extremely predictable and boring. On top of that someone will leave about 1/3 games so only about 1 in 10 games feel actually competitive and fun. Queue times are also a big issue for a lot of DPS players. My suggestion to replace the 6 round team shuffle game mode with an Overwatch style flex queue system is an attempt at addressing all of these core problems with solo queue.
Also some specs are just inherently very disadvantaged in solo queue compared to others. Some specs require more teamwork to be effective while classes like dh and dk can kind of just do their own thing and are much less dependent on their teammates. This is also true for certain healing specs that are much less dependent on their DPS cooperating with them positioning-wise such as resto druid. With a flex queue system players would at least have the option to take more control over what comp they are playing and in-game voice would make it a lot easier to balance heavily teamwork dependent specs.
I’d also recommend matchmaking options that allow you to filter your matched teammates by spec. This way for example a flex queue 4 stack of friends who are looking for an automatically filled teammate for the 5th slot can search for a specific spec(s) that synergize with their team lineup, but of course the tradeoff for this would mean they would have to deal with a longer queue time to find the right spec.
I would so play all dps lobbies. It would be fast queues. I’m also good with 2 tanks instead of 2 healers in the lobby. These are things people should be able to opt into for faster queues.
