Why is this a thing? Why do we give somebody who gets vote kicked 2 minutes into the dungeon 30 minute deserter ? How is this a thing ?

it is because tanks would bypass the daily lockout by insta-queuing in LFG, and forcing groups to kick them until they got the dungeon they wanted.
refusing to kick them made them afk until you kicked them.
then they could queue again without a timer.
