Blizzard devs Hint for TW:

If you wanna make a good start on listening feedback, as your post implies:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/23716421/development-update-a-message-to-the-wow-community
Then it should start with making TW overall more attractive. First, It was briefly attractive back when it was giving good experience even if it was a bug. Currently, its giving so little experience its not even funny. It’s way too inefficient, and it could very easly be fixed with a quick hotfix as opposed to waiting for 9.1.5. So revert the nerf or make it so you get about a level per dungeon which is reasonable because otherwise i have 0 reason to touch it on alts.

Second, make the rewards way more attractive for max levels. It doesn’t drop anima, and the gear is a joke since its below heroic dungeon level. If you want max levels to run it, make it so it gives better ilvl. Or make it upgradeable with timewalking badges(up to or just below M0 would be a decent start). It’s simply very underwhelming as a whole.

Third, while not needed, it could really help to add more dungeons to the pool because some interesting ones are out(Example: Grimrail, Steamvaults and Azjol nerub) and some very tedious or uninteresting ones (Grim batol, Arcatraz or Black Morass to name some) are part of the pool, and more variety would help.

It’s a shame, really. TW is a interesting feature, but its so unrewarding right now that its not worth the hassle.

Shawty, I have to agree with you. The Timewalking Dungeons? WHAAAAAAAAAAACK. Like, the only reason I do them is for the Mount and the Chest- and not even then sometimes.

i didnt read the link, but im sure it says something along the lines of “we hear you, we are going to communicate better this time”. well how many times have they said that before? its like when i was in my 20’s and as i was vomiting in the morning saying “Man, im never gonna drink like that again…”, spoiler alert, i did. and i bet Blizz wont actually communicate better.

"Over the past few weeks since we shared an update, the WoW team has been focused on the immediate future—both for our people and workplace, and what’s next for players too. As a part of that, the entire team came together to ask: What are the biggest things we’re hearing are getting in the way of your fun, and what are the most impactful changes we could make to WoW today to fix that?

Shadowlands Update 9.1.5 will be going on the PTR next week, and a lot of what you’ll find in it is the direct result of your collective feedback. It includes long-asked-for changes to make it easier to swap covenants and conduits, updates to make it so you don’t need to repeat covenant campaigns on alts, new character customization options for some races that were lacking them, and many more changes to help you play the way you want.

It also has updates to improve the game environment for our community, including additional changes to some content to better reflect our shared values, better visibility into the impact of your in-game reports of harassment, and more serious penalties for people engaged in disruptive behavior.

We hope you’ll see something from your own 9.1.5 wish list when we post the patch notes next week, and we’ll keep listening, refining, and building on that as we continue PTR testing and development of what’s next.

For our Burning Crusade Classic players, we’re excited to let you know that the first major content update, Overlords of Outland, will be going live soon. Starting September 15, you’ll be able to take on Prince Kael’thas and Lady Vashj in a pair of iconic raids, engage in a new season of Arena combat, and more. We’re also working on something for WoW Classic players who’ve told us they’d like a chance at a fresh start, and will be sharing more on our plans soon.

Creating World of Warcraft is truly a collaborative effort between the people on our team, across Blizzard, and all of you—and as we build, iterate on, and talk about what’s next, we hope we can demonstrate our commitment to making Azeroth the best place it can be for everyone."

Thats what it says. Considering all that’s happening recently, they are prob really getting the memo that pissing off your fanbase is not a good business. Well then, let’s see if this time they actually put it to practice.

INTRODUCING LEGION TIMEWALKING

Delve back into Legion Dungeons with Legion Timewalking and take on the challenges within, including access to Legion Mythic+ dungeons. This event will run for two weeks the first time it runs within the game and then will resume a regular one-week schedule for subsequent bonus events.

thats the key right there. call me jaded, but ive heard it before and didnt see a follow thru before. as the saying goes, “I’ll believe it, when i see it.”

Mind you, if legion TW dungeons(regular or M+) won’t give proper rewards for leveling or max level alts, people might do it once then never again. This is great content, it just needs better replay value as opposed to gear thats below heroic or a underwhelming amount of experience on alts.

Oh I agree.

Make the Mage tower a timewalking experience. But just reward 100 time-worn badges instead of an artifact skin? XD

I’ve seeing bits of them saying ‘we hear you’ but this seems rather urgent with everything that’s going on.

They get a lot of flack and the ones that want to hold them to a higher standard are right to do so (the ones that just fling the proverbial poop at Blizz I hope is ignored).

The changes they listed so far (I assume there will be MUCH more this time around surprisingly) are looking to be pain points that can alleviate some players issues atm - and I’m glad to read it even if it doesn’t affect me.

I think Timewalking is something they should re-look at.
Perhaps for 9.2 or 10.0.

More frequently. Make it easier to get rewards, perhaps add more varied rewards.

I’m also interested to see the steps in addressing behavior by some… it really does make runs with strangers sometimes REALLY unnecessarily unfun.

This really crystalizes a lot of the talk I hear about the problems with WoW. People tell me that in FF people just do the content for fun and everything doesn’t have to be about player power. In WoW, if you aren’t going to get player power then its “!@#$ you Blizzard”

Problem is, for the content to be fun it has to:

*Avoid being repetitive, add some variety. For example, Don’t do the same TW dungeons over and over, add a rotation or something so we can play different groups of dungeons each time instead of “Oh it’s wotlk, its A,B,C,D,E,F again”. Make it so we are doing different types of dungeons each time that specific event is up.

*Good class design and no borrowed powers. Don’t handicap people who don’t want to grind.

*Encourage with good rewards. Gear thats inferior to SL heroics and a paltry amount of XP for alts are not good rewards to encourage others to participate.

FF content, while i haven’t played the game, i heard it manages the above without issues, while WoW does not. Thats the difference if i understand right.

just gave me an idea on that one. instead of just completing the dungeon, throw in some of the old achievements. like, i forget the name of the dungeon, but the boss fight in Wrath with the falling sword and you have to kill an abomination with the sword. or the one where you had to interrupt the boss from changing into an animal… stuff like that, throw those in randomly to get better rewards. you can skip them if you want, but you wont get the extra stuff and can have new achieves tied to them.

Decided to try a TW dungeon. With bad gear and not much XP for alts leveling, i just stopped. I’d really love to run it, but sadly the rewards are still awful even if it would be easy to address with a hotfix :frowning:

They bug-fixed the second boss in Ahn’Kahet. It’s a start…

Too bad there’s little reason to do it lol. What a waste.

Our plans: “ignore classic”.
