Crusader Strike was a balanced server between horde and alliance with approximately 50% for each side. So Blizzard decided to release the free transfer from Lava Lash (US) to Crusader Strike (US) and clogged the server with the horde faction. Today the server is completely unbalanced and the alliance is unable to do almost anything in events. Horde is ganking at the entrance to dungeons and raids, dominating all events and farming honor for free against a minority that can do nothing.
The game’s initial proposal was to balance the factions by preventing the creation or transfer of characters from the faction with the largest number of players to prevent possible unbalance. Was this proposal thrown in the trash along with the promise of new phases every two months? Blizzard abandoned SOD? Phase 4 with a small handful of horrible runes, shamans giving hit kills with chain lighting, completely unbalanced classes. The game is over? Can we stop playing? Can we stop paying? Why are you destroying one of the most fun games you made? Simply unbelievable!
They created a PVP event that depends on a Balanced server and simply abandoned balancing. It is impossible to make any content in the game if you are an alliance
Phase so far
Faction balance 0/10
Paladin Squire 1000000/10
Shamans mana infinity/oom
Same thing on our server but its the alliance who are crushing it.
You’re not wrong that Crusader Strike’s balance no longer exists, but Lava Lash wasn’t the reason for it. Lava Lash was barely a tenth of Crusader Strike’s size back when they closed it down, and most of Lava Lash weren’t PvPers anyways.
The real death knell for Crusader Strike was the length of Phase 3 and the free server transfers from Crusader Strike to Wild Growth that happened a few times.
But tbf, that’s quibbling over semantics. The end result is the same. Crusader Strike’s faction balance is destroyed and there’s no coming back. Unfortunate.
Squire Dalton Cuthbert is singlehandedly going to get me to get to 60. I can’t let him down, he’s my boi.
Is that a function of server population or player decision making? Because you reference a 50/50 population as if you’re using a tracker to determine the distribution, but you don’t seem to say what the current balance is.
By the time Blizzard opened transfers from Lava Lash, there were about 800 horde players to Crusader Strike’s 10000.
If every single one of those 800 horde transferred to CS, it would not have made a visible difference. They mostly went to WG though.
It’s appears unbalanced because layers are not balanced and alliance isn’t showing up like the horde players are.
Sounds like blizzard just needs to merge these two servers.
Also didn’t blizz open transfer to wild growth off the PvP servers. That’s what hosed the PvP balance. They should have made alliance shamans so I could have carried the banners for the smooth skins. General dunning frontlining the bridge winning every single AV today and there’s nothing the alliance can do about it.
Coming up to 30k honorable kills soon , and I was on break for P3. You don’t want alliance shamans? No changes? Alright; here’s a no change for you, alliance getting stomped and taking Ls in the face of a better class backed by better racials… don’t want to queue up? We coming to the mountain to take your lunch money and your Nikes.
Don’t like it ? Simple solution.
Queue up, or quit.
Won’t have numbers till raids.
I do feel bad about this. The server was so balanced. I don’t one faction to be so terribly disadvantaged. I wish Ally would have stuck things out.
I’m expecting population to hit about twice what it is now before tapering down and never bouncing back up above the peak p4 number.
But my post was in reference to when they closed LL and people transferred to CS and WG.
The cause is the solution. Open these back up and the alliance will just leave.
Well we don’t know. Blizzard does not give us this information so all we got is anecdotal evidence. But I’m almost 60 and everywhere I went was HEAVILY horde favored. For example going from Everlook to Timbermaw Hold in Winterspring I crossed over 10 horde and 2 alliance.
Not an oddity either, it’s not always this extreme but it feels like 2v1 pretty much constantly.
every pvp server is 60/40 horde cause of pve transfers and shamans being op for 6 months. need to add clusters
Have you considered that there might be other reasons for the disparity in Alliance vs Horde you are seeing other than population?
I already said this wasn’t an oddity, it’s the same thing all over the world. Not just a Winterspring thing (which is generally more horde populated because it’s close to Org).
Have you considered that I might have a better sample size than you think?
Our best resource for population appears to be Ironforge pro, and all the servers there are showing reasonable population sizes. If we’re not seeing a significant disparity in raid instances, there must be some other aspect affecting open world play than simply population is off. Because a population disparity would show in all aspects of gameplay.
Yeah the best resource to go off is week old data when the servers were dead and not current real world experiences.
Characters raiding at least once from 3 July 2024 to 9 July 2024
This will really calculate the amount of players currently in the open world.
This is not good information. IF Pro uses raid logs to try to estimate population. No one is raiding right now.
The historical data of those servers also shows a pattern the entire way through. A lot of the claims here are that server transfers contributed to a large exodus and server disparity in population, but I am not really seeing such a change over time on these servers that would make that same suggestion.
It seems more that people are seeing lots of one faction in their zones, and assuming that the faction imbalance is there and the transfers are to blame.
