Blizzard consider giving less to void elves please

Hello everyone of GD.

It’s come to my attention that Void elves are getting a bit more favoritism than the other allied races this time around.

And although i know people like their options and i won’t contest that. We should really consider limiting/putting a brake in the void elf options this time around.

As we all know this may be very intrusive the another allied race idea, that one being the High gnomes of quel’regan of course.

Void elves stealing High gnome skin colors and hair colors as well as hair styles is not very fair to a race that has existed in the warcraft universe longer.

With more lore and story to them than any other elf race i would argue.

Blizzard please don’t go crazy with void elf customizations, I’m sure they are nice but for the sake of lore we should really watch what we give them.

Thank you for coming to my threads as always

Please be civil towards each other.

I mean, I think this is a joke post or something, but the void elf customizations so far have been a literal CTRL C, CTRL V of the Blood Elves skin and increased contrast in the already designed Blood Elves eye color. While every race is getting 0.5 new customization options, they got a 0.6 basically, it’s not much of a thing.

Now, gnomes, just like, delete them, or make them fight in mechs or something.

It’s not a joke post, please don’t address it as that.

Ehhh i still think that is more than what they deserve since other allied races get nothing.

It’s very toxic and lore breaking i might argue.

I rather every new race be gnomes.

cute little fellas !!!

It’s just like… They work well as rogues, mages and so on, you know, classes that rely less in physical strength, but it feels like almost every gnome out there is hellbent on playing a warrior.

Umm, not really, the half-ethereal ones, playable right now were kinda the first generation of void elves, or second if you consider Alleria. They were turned purple and goth due to the Ethereals void magic that were trying to make them also Ethereals.

New ones are more like Alleria, but instead of absorbing a Naaru, probably absorbing a weaker void creature.

I pity void elves for several reasons.

First, they’re elves. Poor fellas never stood a chance from the jump.

Second, they hate themselves so much that they actively campaigned to be turned into something different.

Third, they’ve tasted the smallest seed from the fruit of success: compromise. Now they hunger, insatiable, a greater addiction than mana or fel ever was to elvenkind. They hunger for more, and to their endless suffering, they will remain hungry.

They are lost souls, and they will soon learn, to their sorrow, that blue eyes cannot make them happy.

So that would mean the other carbon copy races would also get this no? I have a feeling that they wont.

Good gosh, this. There was a thread of a Velf asking for the Belf hair colors and styles. So basically just want Belfs with different racials on Alliance.

You mean like, copying eye colors and skin? I mean, I am pretty sure eyes they will share, maybe not red eyes for Mag’har. Likewise skins - Highmountain Tauren have more hair due to, you guessed it, living on a mountain, if they got the Tauren, they would have to add an extra work of adding fur on top of the new skin colors, however, that wouldn’t be just copying over now, would it?

I don’t think I need to explain why D.I Dwarves and Mag’har can’t get the skin colors from their parent races.

Mechagnomes on the other hand are getting the same skin colors from regular gnomes.

More gnomes :heart_eyes::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::kissing_heart:

Mechagnomes already are. They got all Gnome skintones on Alpha.

The only other race that shares a direct same model is LF Draenei, and that’s still up in the air, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they got copy pasted certain Draenei stuff. They just got the new Draenei tentacle customizations too.

Every other race isn’t a simple copy paste like it is with Velves.

Velves also have an in-game lore reason for getting these skintones and eyes. Go to the Velf starting zone, Telogrus Rift, and there are High Elf Wayfarer NPCs and Silvermoon Scholar NPC’s with normal skin/hair and glowing blue eyes studying and learning the Void from Locus Walker. Ion also said other Elves have been actively joining the Void Elf ranks. These new customization reflect the integration of Belfs and Helfs into Velf ranks.

Wouldn’t have to be skin color, instead of that since there are reasons why it they wouldn’t but then they could just throw some other stuff on since it would just be as you said copy and paste.

Half of the allied races are.

Oh so instead of 20 something elves they’re up to 50 something elves? lol :stuck_out_tongue: I kid but they do have the one weakest entry of being another faction to join.

And I’m not saying they shouldn’t get it. Just don’t understand why the other races who are the carbon copy wouldn’t get more of the copy paste treatments that Velfs seem to be getting.

And I’m not saying they wont, I just don’t really see blizzard giving the other races as much treatment as Elfs get in this game.

I mean, I’m offering the other races the same cards dealt to void elves, they didn’t copy hairstyle, jewelry, or whatever else have you. I would love for regular orcs to get the Mag’har hairs myself, if it’s something you are wondering. But for an example, copying hairstyles for Dark Iron would include adding new textures and particles, so they probably wouldn’t get anything and Lightforged have distinctive bright skin colors and flashy eyes, so they could copy new hairs and some other vanities and thats about it. But then you get into the “Void Elves want everything from Blood Elves” argument where Void Elves would also want hair styles from the parent race, so yeah, they are trying to play it carefully.

I get that. On the bright side, they already started to on Alpha today, tons of Allied Race customization starting stuff and separation has been datamined and it seems like Blizz is turning attention towards them now that most Core Races are done. We might not have to wait too long for the “Allied Race” passover they promised a while back when Core Races were finished.

I mean Ion already explained why this stuff is happening:

Belf NPC Blue Eye options leaked → Community is outraged when they are confirmed not usable by players → Blizz sits down and talks about it and decides to give them to Belfs, but knows they can’t give Horde High Elfs without giving Alliance anything (considering High Elfs have been a historically Alliance race), decides to gives Velfs High Elf options too. Each faction gets it, Blizz doesn’t want to make either side feel cheated.

Elves have always been a popular, controversial, and heated topic of discussion of which many people are passionate about, as I’m sure you know, so I think Blizz tried to do the thing to please everyone. It probs is annoying if you play other races bc it can feel like attention and resources are funneled into Elfs, I get that. But companies have to follow popular demands I guess.

Personally I want Void Elfs to get some hairstyles and haircolors from Humans, Night Elfs, and Kul Tirans. Let Blood Elfs keep their hairstyles and colors so they don’t feel trashed on.

Or at least just black and white hair colors. How does a Void race not have black or white hair colors…two of our hair colors right now are the same, and the black hair colors our NPCs have is unavailable…I think someone made a mistake rofl.

Honestly, void elves hair colors looks like someone threw a bunch of pens with leaking ink on their heads.

Yet*lol again I kid

Agreed.

I disagree with the idea of becoming light forge is just a Draenei doing a trial to become light forged. I doubt it would be too hard of a blow to lore that their skin color isn’t brightened by the trial.

Fair enough

Yeah, I get that. And I’ll admit its just my personal bias against elves, especially Velfs. They’re prioritized in so many other fantasy setting is was nice coming from EQ and only seeing one Elf race in WoW was a refreshing change. And yes I know others existed in the RTS but not in the MMO

Now we’re at four and it is hard to not just get irked when we see Velf customization get shown, even if dataminned, before so many of the other core race not even out at the time.

. . . shakes head and walks away not worth it . . .

Copy-pasted skins and eye colours are too much?

Gosh.

For real. Why are elves getting gnome hair?! I keep posting about this. I should probably stop…

This is so petty and ridiculous. The more customization the better. No one is forcing you to play a void elf, or use any of the natural options they are being given to them. I hope ALL races and allied races get on par on terms of customization. I would never be unhappy that one race is getting love, for the sake that another race has options lacking. Instead of complaining about void elf natural options, you should take that energy and petition what you want to see MORE of for other races. At the end of the day, more customization enriches the game; regardless of what race is currently getting new options.
