Morgan Day I guess did not know what they were saying during that MRGM Interview.
Blizzard also confirms quests will reward all appearances in The War Within.
We’re also still working on the much-discussed update that makes it so that when quests are completed, all appearances from non-cosmetic item rewards will be granted, regardless of whether that particular class could have seen or chosen them. We plan for this to be retroactive, so any quests that you previously completed should grant all qualifying appearances when you first log onto any character. The intent here is to remove the need for completing these quests on multiple classes in order to collect all the appearances they provide.

Well, the difference is that the “no, it’s a bug, it won’t be happening in Retail release” comes from a GM, who may not really be very familiar with WoW (since GMs support all Blizzard games and have differing degrees of familiarity with them); the “yep, it’s happening” is coming from a senior Community Manager who tends to speak only with the authority of, and with direct information from, the developers (but that still doesn’t preclude the developers changing their mind).
Overall, I’d believe Kaivax more than the GM. It’s even possible that what the GM said was accurate at that time and Kaivax’s information represents the developers changing their mind. In that case, Kaivax’s info would be more accurate due to being more recent.

Well I prefer your answer as thats what I heard and that on login you would learn a lot of appearances based on quests completed etc.
