- Right click on the blank Battlenet icon
- You should see from the bottom Close window -> Pin to taskbar - > Battlenet with the blank icon as well
- Click on this blank icon you will be met with the “shortcut not found, delete?” message
- Say Yes then right click and close out of battlenet on the taskbar (fully not minimize)
- Restart Battlenet
Hope this fixes it for you.

So I have been struggling with this issue for a few months now, and have tried literally everything on the internet to resolve the problem.
Here was my fix, if none of the above solutions worked:
- Closed Battle.net application
- Open Windows Explorer
- Navigate to wherever you have Battle.net installed (In my case C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net\
- Open the Start Menu
- Search for Battle.net
- Right-Click the application
- Open File Location (This should open C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Battle.net)
- Delete this file.
- Go back to the Windows Explorer window where you have Battle.net installed
- Right-Click Battle.net
- Create Shortcut
- Cut this shortcut and Paste it into the other Windows Explorer window (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Battle.net)
- Rename this shortcut “Battle.net”
- Double click this shortcut
This should open the Battle.net launcher and resolved all my issues.
Don’t know why this resolved my issue over deleting the iconcache, but after months of troubleshooting this finally resolved the issue.
