Blizzard clarified their maintenance via twitter

If you’re scared of rocket man’s website I’ll copy and paste it here.

We want to provide additional details on today’s leveling changes and balance fixes to group content.

• Changes aim to make the difficulty curve more gradual - enemy strength will actually increase by less per level in the mid-to-high 70s than it used to

• Players coming in with DF endgame gear should still feel overpowered at Level 70

• Players coming in with basic leveling gear from DF (ilvl 300s) should find leveling manageable and get powerful gear quickly

• Combat at 78 and up will be completely unchanged from how it has been

We’ll be keeping an eye on the changes to ensure that the overall impact on leveling time is minimal.

In short, this is no different than shadow lands launch, dragon flight launch, etc etc…

It’s still a stupid change. Who cares if people are overpowered in the 70-75 range?

If it’s a problem because 76-80 feels bad, FIX THAT. Weakening players to make the gameplay more consistent is the dumbest “solution” to this problem. Likewise, ignoring player feedback whilst doing it is also stupid.

I dont recall guards in av 2 hitting people during the launch of the last expansion nor vehicles being near invicible. This isnt anything like the launch of dragonflight. They have overscaled npc power.

No mention of auto-loot lag by the cinderbees area or all buffs just randomly debuffing. Sometimes jumping into a Delve I will lose the Arcane Intellect buff and any other food & drink buff. Sometimes it will debuff when I buff another player. Sometimes it won’t let me buff another player at all. Sometimes it will just debuff after 5 minutes for no reason.

For me, combat at 78 and up WAS the problem, at least with Balance druid.

That’s an odd choice after saying:

78-80 felt the worst since you get gear upgrades so infrequently leveling. If you wanted to try to make it better you had to buy greens on the AH as you leveled.

Making normal dungeons have a higher drop rate when leveling would help smooth the experience out since you level much faster than you get gear currently.

Not like anyone cared about the leveling speed anyways, people just want to blow through it, antiquate one zone after another, get to end game and never revisit older content again after 1-2 patches phasing it out entirely.
They need to just open up the servers and let people play the damn game with the little time off they get.

The game’s designers. And a lot of the players.

It’s the GDL, the Global Debuff Limit. The constant from beta was used in the production build, lol.

Thank goodness! Last time I tried to go there I almost got indoctrinated into a defunct German political party cult!

oh boo hoo. you cant stay at level 71 and be overpowered for the rest of time. grow up.

In other words, they didn’t clarify anything. Posting only there is the same as not posting at all. I’m not going to a malicious site to view patch notes for a game that should be on the official site.

This was happening to me during the pre-expansion events.

All those plebs complaining about leveling getting slower…

You are bad, and you should feel bad.

Here’s the typical. “I feel really dumb about complaining and spazing about the scaling adjustment and now that there is really no difference for me out in the world leveling I feel bad but im going to double down on my bad take”

So, not only is this something that should have been resolved during testing, but it’s a repeat of previous mistakes.

They know we will keep paying them.

They know that eventually “demand” will drop back down.

So they come to the very calculated decision to minimize infrastructure expense, probably knowing it will lead to poor launch experience, but that those cost savings will be worth whatever tiny insignificant number unsub over it (and come back a month or two later anyways).

Corporations are not necessarily evil, but they’re like a soulless hive mind whose purpose is to maximize profit. Everything they do, is an effort to increase profit.

As if today hasn’t been bad enough for WoW players, let’s randomly, and for no good reason, bring politics into a thread that should have nothing to do with politics.

Some people’s kids, seriously.
