Blood Elves honoring their fallen brothers and sisters by taking a name, none of them would be insulted by being called a High elf when they already honored their High elf loved ones.
How can anyone think it would be some kind of insult? It’s as if they’ve made up some kind of story in their minds that doesn’t exist in game.
‘Don’t ever call me a High elf because I just hate all my brothers and sisters who allowed themselves to get killed by Arthas’.

Not a single character in game or in the books has called a blood elf “high elf” when referring to them
The blood elves even fully acknowledge that they are no longer high elves.
They don’t have to say this for you to see that none of them address each other as high elves, and no other character in game addresses them as high elves either.

Except they literally aren’t? High elves do not refer to themselves as blood elves and vice versa. This is just wrong lol

Blood elves used to be high elves. High elves are NOT blood elves and have never changed their name to blood elf lol.

Not gonna lie, I’m feeling all kinds of good that my belf arms warrior will have blue eyes as an option. Dunno if I’ll ue them or not, but it’s nice to know that the option is there

they evolved as people, not as race, and since they will have blue eyes, i was right after all, that it only matters the magic they were using
blizzard came out and confirmed that only elves with a strong connection to the light get the golden eyes, so only paladins and priests.
normal elves would still just be green or blue, depending on their level of fel exposure.
