Blizzard are you trying to kill SOD? Implement Warmode now pls

Have any of you developers even tried to do incursions on a pvp server?

bands of roving lvl 50s ganking low levels all day and night.

At the start of phase 3 you had hundreds of people on both sides.

Now horde are outnumbered 15 to 1. It literally has become unplayable. World pvp only works when the factions are balanced. The factions are definitely not balanced. So please, give us warmode or a PVE layer

You guys really need to get over war mode. It’s a bad system and you’re not getting it. If you don’t like PvP then roll PvE and stop the whining.

I love pvp… 15 v 1 is not pvp though

Neither will allowing the lesser faction to flee to a pve server enmass

ya but thats a completely dif problem. wpvp in sod sucks bc layering. my serv is like 60-65% ally and 25-30% horde and im enjoying wpvp due to the imbalance. id rather be on the lesser faction if i am looking for wpvp

It actually is.

Here me out you play on a pve server and omg you won’t die to in game mechanics such as PVP on a PVP server :joy:

How about you reroll to a PVE server and you can pretend you’re playing in warmode by being able to flag yourself and then click it off when you don’t want to do warmode.

Then you can leave those of us who actually enjoy PvP to do so in peace and those like you can stop making these dumb threads.

Warmode is one of the worse things blizzard has ever done. You might be to young to know this but emeralddream imo was one of if not the best server in all of wow history. Even a website where people had irl pictures, hang out irl you name it emeralddream had it. Some of the most epic world pvp but the day they addded warmode it wipe the whole server.

Man, another post about suffering the consequence of your own actions?!

How dare they PVP when on a PVP server!

I played Horde during BfA, where we pretty much always had war mode on because it was effectively 10% more XP or AP at any given time, and Alliance was so few and far between that we never had to worry about them. If we did see them, it was most likely 15:1 in favor of Horde. On very rare occasion, though, there’d be a raid group of 15 or 35 unholy DKs and 5 elemental shamans - and this wasn’t always a massive multiboxer, rather it was sometimes actually a raid group of 20 or 40 individual players - that would just all cast Outbreak(an uncapped AoE DoT) at nearly the same time, while the ele shams all popped Stormkeeper(guaranteed two Chain Lightning crits with Overloads, IIRC) and unloaded on us.

It was pretty much instant deletion and complete control of a zone. This was the point we Horde players hearthed/teleported out of the zone, turned War Mode off, and rolled through whatever zone without War Mode for a little while, with zero penalty except not getting a small bonus.

War mode completely disincentivized world PvP in any case where it wasn’t 10:1 or 20:1 or 40:1. At least if you had rolled on a PvP server, you knew what to expect. War mode just made people even whinier about world PvP, and would proceed to hide away or just have it turned off at the first sign of any world PvP happening - which it usually didn’t happen, because if you encountered someone 1v1 or 2v2 or 2v1 in open world, attacking someone could end up turning it from 1:1 or 2:1 in your favor to 10:1 in their favor nearly instantly.

tl;dr: War mode creates more problem than it solves, which all it solves is deleting PvP realms for people who don’t actually want to be on a PvP realm.

EDIT: Wanted to get one more thought in on the same quote:

It 100% is PvP. It’s PvP as war, rather than as sport. Can we re-check what the name of the game is, in any and every expansion?

Yes it is. You don’t like PvP servers. See you on a PvE realm now dry those tears.

Here’s my theory on current PvP server whining -

These people expected to level grind in dungeons in p3. Level grinding in dungeons is a pseudo warmode - you get to safely PvE away from other players and you only come out of the dungeons once you’re max level to gank the other players who took the slower “smell the roses” path.

This time instead of being bullies, because incursions have killed off the dungeon leveling craze, they are the bullied. And they don’t know how to cope with it.

Should just add warmode. It’s effectively already here, just cumbersome.

Of the 5 Distinct wPvP encounters I’ve had since the end of P1. (I.E. more than just a 50 completely ignoring me or taking a 1 hit swipe at my lowbie)

  1. First was a wPvP brawl in P2 at Stromgarde where the alliance finally hit a critical mass of 4 to 1 advantage and decided they had balls and took over Stromgarde for a while. When we finally had enough Horde gather to wipe them, one more time, they hearthed/layered out.
  2. Second was a Mage that decided my lowbie hunter needed to die so I logged over to my Shaman I parked that and camped that mage about 4 times before he got a layer out. (When the body disappears not leaving a skeleton)
  3. Third was a Paladin in Dustwallow that wanted no competition for mining so he killed my hunter and another warrior (despite almost dying to my hunter who was 5 levels below) and then he was completely chill allll the way up until his bubble came off of CD before he killed us both again.
I logged over to my Shaman, killed him through his bubble and his LoH (He was a really bad Paladin…) and he Layered. Right then and there.
  4. Fourth was Level 50 hunter in Ferals that decided my level 47 hunter needed to die and got the kill. Then I came back and killed him repeatedly. After his 4th death he managed to res and shadowmeld out of sight, could’ve layered, could’ve just waited me out in stealth…makes no difference. (Feralas things)
  5. Was a rogue, a rather crafty one who managed to survive my hunter and then camp me a couple of times, I brought over my Shaman and rogue did rogue things. (Agro’d all of the Yetis in the area then vanished them on top of me before opening up. It was quite clever.) But then he was just gone after that.
Whether just moving on or deciding he didn’t want to fight me without the Yei backup singers, it doesn’t really matter.)

…so let’s recap:
First clash hearthed/layered. (Opted out.)
Second Fight layered after 4 deaths. (Opted out.)
Third Fight layered immediately. (Opted out.)
Fourth Fight stealthed/layered after 3 deaths. (Opted out.)
Fifth Fight was the bastard rogue that left while he was ahead. (Organic.)

So of the 5 notable wPvP fights I’ve had: 4 of them did the Classic version of War Mode.

It’s already here, just clunky. Let’s just put it in the game so we can have the system that solves the problem of:

Small population on PvE server. (Group content pool.)
PK “PvP” frustrating players who cannot see your level on PvP servers.
Trying to mess with layers in order to get away from PvP you’re no longer interested in.
Being unable to get somewhere because a section of the zone is just controlled by a raid with nothing better to do.
And being forced to compete for resources with people you cannot kill on a PvE server.

All of that solved by War Mode. The only argument against it is from players who either cannot handle improvement (walked to school uphill both ways…) and/or don’t want to risk losing the pool of lowbies to frustrate and annoy for their own mental health issues.

Dont worry the pvp server andies will be here in a couple months complaining that there is 0 world pvp bc there server is now a 99-1 population PVE server just like in era.

They do it to themselves every time.

Gank gank gank all day all night. Logs on next day. “Hey uhua derp, umm where are the level 40’s for me to kill?” They are gone friend, they did what the forums told them to do and left. Bc like i said a million times. WPVP is a myth!!

If its not advantage vs disadvantage , then its not happening. My proof being launch day of phade 3, would have thought lonewolf was a PVE server, no one attacking each other at all. Bc no advantage. Bahahahaha story as old as time.

Yeah…that’s what Fairbanks did.

We started out at about 55/45 and just turned the game off for the alliance at BRM- before TBC even dropped, it was 96% Horde and my group had to migrate to Grobb for wPvP.

Just layer swap like all the other “pvp enjoyers” do.

The sod faction balance has been a complete joke because layers are not balanced. Some layers will be 10:1 opposing faction, others will be the opposite. Just try to find one where your faction is dominant.

That’s what all these people telling you to roll on a pve server do. Nobody is actually having fun doing incursions on a layer where their faction is outnumbered 10:1 because of the max lvl full raid gank squads.

This is make believe, but it’s your story, so tell it how you want I guess.
