Blizzard and Time gating how do we stop this?

How do we stop this massive time gating 8.1 is prime example of content missing aka the raid and 370 gear in Mythic Zero.

Blizzards Time gating has gotten worse and worse each expansion… I mean overall content wise this expansion is as Dry as WOD… This is not good. Blizzard needs to do something or subs will keep bleeding fast…

We the fans are more important then the shareholders. Blizzard make things right please.

To be fair hasn’t raids in recent history always been a delayed release from the actual patch? The issue isn’t so much as timegating as Uldir is lasting to long as the first raid (imo and its a meh raid at best). Which you can try to call timegating but at that point everything in WoW has been timegated and its nothing new.

6 weeks is one of the smallest time gates ever in this game. Massive? Gotten worse and worse? Were you even here for the 14-month content drought during Siege of Orgrimmar?

Even in classic, you were time gated. Through attunements and gear checks.

First you have to stop using the term “Time-Gating”. It isn’t something you can simply apply to anything you don’t like.

The Raid and Gear Updates are not Time Gated. They are simply being released at a future date. This has happened with different features in the game for well over a decade now. It isn’t new and it isn’t something that you should get mockingly upset about.

That’s not a time gate… that’s a content drought.

Time gating is when a product is finished and the only thing blocking people from playing it is a flip of a switch.

The raid and this new questline is done it’s only being time gated to drag along subscriptions

Time gating isnt new at all. Antorus didnt come out until like six weeks after argus became available. You either time gate people with little bits of content and they whine about having nothing to do. Or you release everything at once, they finish it all in two weeks and they whine about having nothing to do.

Rather have everything at once.

The only thing that should be held back a bit is last raid of expansion. But other then that we should get everything from start and if stuff runs out oh well people deal with it.
Much more fare then time gating.

WoD had a lot more to do and everything about its lore made sense even though it was an alternate universe. BfA doesn’t come anywhere close to how good WoD was, and people mostly hate on the latter because of “muh flying.”

To be honest, the fact the raid and arena/M+ season 2 starts in January doesn’t really bug me that much. Uldir didn’t come out until a month (I think?) after launch.

What I’m annoyed by is the time gating of the war campaign. Because even if it has more ish content, I get flash backs for the “quests” on the Broken Shore. Waiting a week to kill 100 demons and that was it? No…and I hate the story being dragged out like this because it’ll be waiting 7+ weeks for 30 minutes of questing.

I do understand the raid stuff, though. I’ve been bored of Uldir for a month now, and there isn’t much else I’m interested in doing.

How??

The later release of the Raid and new Gear Season was announced a month ago. It would come in January. If that is all someone plays for, then they cancel their subscription and come back in January.

If you bought your subscription in advance and can’t find anything in the game to do then it sucks but otherwise, just cancel and renew when something interests you.

Delaying the release of any content doesn’t keep people subscribed.

Heres the thing, situations like this are a catch 22 to where if they slow people down, people will outrage. If they dont and release everything in one go,people will inhale the content like nematodes in one sitting and then outrage that there’s nothing to do because of lack of self control. Developers in the game industry can only make so much content in so little time and do have family to go home to or at least need of respite to prevent burnout. [Damned if they do damned if they don’t]

One simply can’t go "Guys,I regret to say that Christmas and breaks from this day forward are cancelled for everyone because the forums say we aren’t giving enough content,we need to pump out an infinite amount to sate their hunger "[which seems insatiable these days] THAT would lower morale and definitely create disdain. Even in Classic we had time gates through attunements and rep grinds or need I remind of the gates of AQ. [dat red snapper though] The time gates are necessary to get people to pace themselves, sure you can claim trying to get raid ready but you can do so slowing down as it really isn’t a race.

But then we’d have to hear you complain about there not being enough content.

Staggering the release until January is the right idea. Blizz employees are likely on holidays soon, and fixing any issues will take more time than usual.

Plus, no one wants to raid over Christmas.

Yes. With how broken and bugged a lot of things are directly after a major patch, I can see the need to wait until there is some semblance of order before launching a raid.

Them not giving you the raid exactly when you want it, isn’t them time gating. Time gating would be them giving you a few bosses at a time (which they do for LFR players), or only giving you a quest every week leading up to Darkshore, rather than giving it to us up front.

What you’re experiencing is disinterest in the current content. That might be their fault, sure. But plenty of people are still progressing through Uldir and they obviously feel it’s too early to release the raid just yet. Not to mention it’s still being tested and tweaked.

In Legion we got the raid around the 0.5 patch, not the 1.0 patch. It seems like they’re committed to that pace.

Uldir has been out for 3 months. A new raid is WAY too soon.

Actual time gated raid releases are Sunwell and ICC where you could enter the raid but only do a few bosses before an invisible wall said you can’t go any further.

You stop giving them your money.

You didn’t play WoD because anyone who did would know this is complete BS.

They are planing to replicate the legion style content releasing so this really shouldn’t be a surprise.

I did mythic dungeons in WoD. I did raiding in WoD. I skipped world quests in WoD after I got my token flying. Looks like the same to me. All we got was more mythic dungeons difficulties.
