Blizzard and Chained Essence of Eranikus

I want to preface this with I know this is a niche issue. But so was players vendoring their Skull of Impending Doom, Nifty Stopwatch, etc. But, they did add a warning on refusing to item restore Chained Essence of Eranikus in the item restoration notes before you submit a ticket in the past so it must of occurred a lot for them to do so.

So what is the deal with Blizzard and Chained Essence of Eranikus?

We’ve now had a vendor on Era that allows us to buy back vendored trinkets like Skull of Impending Doom, Carrot on a Stick, Nifty Stopwatch, Luffa. Why was Chained Essence of Eranikus not added? As somebody who just wants to do every quest in the game on Era because there’s nothing really left to do for character completion (as stated, niche, I know) I am literally soft locked on two quests because of this trinket. Because it requires you to turn in the trinket to progress, but if you vendored/deleted it, you cannot progress on this quest. And there is zero way to re-obtain it.

How I initially lost this item was vendoring it by accident in the beginning of classic in 2019. The Item restoration function worked partially even before, and was down the day after when I realized what I did and it was not on my list of items I could restore. In 2019, even ticketing a GM, they would refuse to restore it.

If this was back in the day, this issue would of been solved within the first ticket. This is the only item to my knowledge of every game quest (2004 Classic to 2017 Legion off hand) that interacts like this. It is completely unique. You would think they would implement a way to get it back.

If they were worried about people “exploiting” and getting it back after restoring it, just have a true/false flag on the vendor.

If ‘The Essence of Eranikus (3373)’ is completed and ‘The Essence of Eranikus (3374)’ is not completed, let it be on the vendor. If ‘The Essence of Eranikus (3373)’ and ‘The Essence of Eranikus (3374)’ is completed, let it not be on the vendor. The fix seems so simple.

I’m just at a loss for words why this particular quest works like this. There’s no reason for it to. I have submitted multiple tickets from 2019 to 2024 to see if they will restore it. Submitted feedback on the forums and in the feedback ticket system with nothing done.
