Blizzard admin agent wants to make changes!

is this a legitimate program?

I just had that popup as well. I do believe it is just part of the Launcher app. I allowed it to make changes, but the update crashed and did not finish as of yet.

Seems to be in the ProgramData folder, and around the time these requests started popping up there were log folders created. I just quit D4, restarted the launcher and stopped getting those notifications.

Just wanted to update those who may not be aware of why the agent was popping up… According to the forum in UK. One player noticed something called Battlenet agent helper located within the system configuration. This means that when you accepted the message the agent is now part of the system configurations and will auto load when your device is restarted or turned on.

To access this: System Configuration > Services > Hide all Microsoft Services > Uncheck/Check Battlenet Update Agent

It’s a battle.net agent update. It’s the same UAC popup you get when you install or update any other piece of software.

yeah I know what uac is but i never seen the blizz admin agent name before.

I am getting this popup as well. A couple of times tonight actually it came up when i started up battlenet. just started to happen today so not sure what is up as this was not the case yesterday with it asking me this when i launch battlenet ( not all the time but twice tonight)

It comes up 3 times. I think it’s because the battle.net update agent is installed as a Windows service. This happens whenever there is an update to that.

for me it wouldnt stop coming up. i kept saying no and it kept repeating.

I logged onto my computer earlier today and had the Blizzard app pop up ten times asking me to make changes

it asked me like 5 times.

That’s precisely why it kept popping back up for you. If you say no it will not be able to do whatever it is it needs to do. Next time you try and open the app, it will again ask permission. It will keep doing this until you say yes.

The pop-up is to help people avoid malware/spyware/etc by unscrupulous programs or even programs disguised as harmless files or links. If that pops up when you definitely aren’t expecting it to then it’s a good idea to investigate more.

This Blizzard pop up though is perfectly fine.

The first three times it came up for me, I said yes. It wasnt until I said no on the fourth time that it stopped. With it acting weird like this, there is probably a bug going on here.

I probably should have added that it seems to be bugged, you’re right!

However saying “no” is definitely never going to get it to go away hah.
