If you haven’t already seen it, Blizzard released a small teaser for the midnight cinematic we’re getting next week. One of the quick flashes shows “someone” kneeling in front of Xalatath.
That someone is clearly Lorthemar. I can already see the discussion in the board room:
“Hey guys how do we bring that WOW factor to the next cinematic”
“Hmm which beloved male character haven’t we killed off yet… I know! How about Lorthemar! That’ll make the community happy! Even better, let’s just have him die in the cinematic!”
I don’t know how many times blizzard needs to learn their lesson. Burning teldrassil wasn’t necessary, killing voljin wasn’t necessary, destroying dalaran wasn’t necessary. Why do you continue to kill off memorable characters and locations… this isn’t game of thrones, you can let characters survive. At the end of the world soul saga we’re gonna be left with a bunch of nobody’s in charge with every old character dead.
Here’s my prediction. Xalatath kills Lorthemar in the cinematic then destroys silvermoon in the pre patch. Thrall will probably end up dying trying to stop her later in midnight, and then faerin will be the one to kill her, becoming the new empress of Azeroth. It’s too predictable. And every one of you owes me 1 gold when this happens.
LOL if this isn’t just a troll, I’ve been calling that for as long as I can remember. No one should really be shocked at this point when a leading male character gets killed or pushed aside for the next girl boss to take over.
He is gonna die so Faerin can become the queen of Elves, and eventually she will rule the world and the game will change its name to World of UWUcraft where everyone will be included and loved.
Doubtless someone in the blood elf horde roster is going to get fragged by Xal’atath. Blizzard loves to kill off horde characters and call it “good story”.
Question is, who’s going to be the real unlucky jerk who bites the proverbial bullet? Not looking good for Lor’themar, but we also have Liadrin, Halduran, and Rommath. It doesn’t have to be a blood elf either! Could be Thalyssra saving Lor’themar in tragic sacrifice.
Might be time to get those “Which Horde character is going to die” bingo cards ready, folks.
This. The lore has been pozzed and defiled beyond recognition. It’s meant to appeal to the mythical “modern audience” that these ESG officers are so obsessed with.
Have any of you ever truly thought about the reason behind this? Maybe the reason mostly male characters have died is because the WoW cast has been gasp largely made up of male characters since Vanilla.
In Vanilla, the only female faction leaders were Sylvanas and Tyrande. The rest were all male. That trend has continued for most of WoW’s lifetime. But sure, let’s keep talking about how Blizz has an anti-male bias despite making men the main focus for years.
Obviously, we have to get rid of him so Aleria can go home and rule after Turalyon is killed by Xal’atath and Sylvanas can finally return to undercity.
Well they have to make way for Alleria to become Ranger General and unless he decides to retire to be a house husband in Suramar they have to get him out of the way somehow.
Yeah but like how many of those were major leaders in the story for a long time? Like a bunch of them have been horde, but I can’t think of anyone besides sylvanas that wasn’t a man with a prominent role.
Even now, turalyon, a man, is sitting in for anduin in stormwind.
