That’s a PvP talent right? We know that PvP is definitely a minority when it comes to player population, so what about PvE MM?
I mean… if we are playing that card the people who need a pet to kill world rares as MM is smaller then pvp players.
Pve unless pets are used to skip I imagine petless would be better.
Some people want it for flavor or other reasons. It’s still suboptimal just like single pet BM is. It’s an option, but not a great one.
The main thing is that the game isn’t stagnating like you claimed because they are moving forward with the changes. The fact that a few may back out of those changes to use a pet doesn’t mean that they are reversing the direction of the spec.
A even BETTER option would be to just spec BM instead of gimping a new spec and crippling it for pvp.
What if they don’t like the BM spec? Or should they just do what you say and play how you tell them to?
There isn’t really a downside to give them the option to have a pet if it’s the worse choice.
It me. I hate BM, enjoy MM, and want a pet.
But with the removal of Barrage I give up anyway. Dead spec. Mass-pulling and then using MM’s excellent AOE was fun and there’s no way that aspect is getting rescued. If MM is trash for solo content and BM is trash for group content then Survival is the only hunter spec that makes any sense.
I am going to try and be as nice and as understanding as possible.
From the perspective of someone using a pet with MM what do you believe is the difference in play and rotation?
I know it… but for you to bring this up I have to assume you don’t.
Barrage has been the bane of group content for ages lol.
Im just annoyed they removed it from mm, where it actually made sense and BUFFED it for bm, where it makes zero sense to even have it period.
So you’re saying that adding an inferior option to have a pet (which it pretty much has now) is somehow going to ruin the spec? How does that logic work?
Competitive players obviously aren’t going to take it. People doing content where it doesn’t matter might. How does that pull the spec down?
this isn’t even about competitive, it has something to do with pvp because of roar of sacrifice and pets, and…i’m not sure entirely if this person is mad MM hunters are keeping pets now because of roar of sacrifice or not…
PvP for hunters is generally centered around how well you can play defensively. CDs that heal you are not very powerful as most games rely on dampening to secure kills after forces damage reductions cds.
Roar of sacrifice is so powerful that currently there isn’t a MM hunter that doesn’t take it. I can’t see a scenario where having a pet is viable in pve where it doesn’t become mandated for pvp unless they go so far as to lock MM out of the pvp talent.
Anyway, to actually be on-topic, Blizz wants to kick disc priests in the nuts. End of story. It’s gonna happen one way or another.
They stuck up too high in S1 and now the nerf nuke is coming. It won’t simply be a numbers chop, they’re also gonna lose mechanical reasons for being a meta-topper.
I don’t think having a pet is supposed to be viable in PvE with the new changes. Well, depending on your definition of viable I suppose. I’m very doubtful that it’s going to be optimal or comparable, just like how it’s not currently.
I don’t think you really want to engage in the subject or understand it enough to get into a conversation beyond the surface level of it. That is alright, end of the day im just annoyed because a class I play isn’t going to be getting as interesting of a rework as I hoped it would.
It isn’t the end of the world but im not thrilled either that gameplay design is going to suffer in favor of… im not even entirely sure?
Letting people who play wow like a single player game without ever doing anything beyond mindless grinds linger on? I don’t get the draw, I don’t see the advantages to it. Frankly I can’t get why they wouldn’t rather play a subscriptionless single player game.
I had this little suggestion a while back, can still be used…
LOL. They should listen to Frost Mages. Can we have our Water Elemental back please?
Sins of the Many has existed for the past 9 years and never once was impactful enough to act as a tuning knob. Healing 2, 5, or 14 targets has always been basically equally efficient.
Might as well take it all the way back to MoP where Atonement was automatic.
IMO Blizz making the right choice. Disc is stupidly OP and deserves to be nerfed a great degree.
I think what made disc special was aegis shields back in Mop, it made other healers so mad they boycotted shields as not healing … some still do
