So I did the 4 chapters of the max level campaign and was trying to figure out where the Earthen unlock chain was, turns out there are 3 side quest chains that are also required, why are these not marked with the purple triangle marker indicating they are important? You made all these improvements to marking quests, yet didn’t fully utilize them.
well they do tell you in the quest info tab
this is part of the allied race unlock quest
Only once you pick the quest up, or look under the achievement, but they have that little purple triangle icon to indicate important quests, so why not mark those as such, would have made it a lot easier. That way when you look on the map you see that purple triangle and say oh, that quest is important for something.
They aren’t that important.
Devs probably figured that someone who is interested in unlocking Earthen might look up what’s necessary, either in-game (achievement) or third-party.
Funnily enough, these are tools players should use for this type of information.
It’s clearly Blizzard’s mistake for thinking people would naturally go out and do side quests and… read the quest text.
Part of the fun of unlocking the new race is stumbling upon the quests and being surprised and rewarded.
Sendalor, you have the tools, use them
I think i did one of them and i have no idea where the other 2 is lol, then again i dont really care about the Earthen, not gonna race change lmao
You’re right, Blizzard has done so well with their updated signposting (it’s been VERY good this expansion), but falling short in these key areas is frustrating to see.
I’d ignore most hose who have responded. They seem to think that things being needlessly complicated is a virtue and wet the bed at not being made to jump through hoops to get anything done.
So really the title of this thread should have been “I have the tools, but didn’t use them”?
Aside from the fact the achievement doesn’t actually give the name of the starting quest itself, just the name of the quest chain, so you still have to go outside game to look it up.
Either way, Blizz added a way to mark important quests, if you look at the map legend in-game, it says the purple triangle is for important quests for rewards, features or new mechanics.
I just want to basically bring this up a way Blizz could improve in the future. If a quest/questline is required for something like an allied race etc, it should be marked as important.
because unlocking them isn’t important… Like in the quest window it literally tells you this quest line unlocks them what more do you need?
That’s the adventure of questing. No one said you had to look it up, you could of found it on your own.
Yeah but, if I have my character I want to progress on, unlocking Earthen isn’t important to my gameplay, which is why it’s not denoted by one of the important gameplay denoting markers.
Again, read what they say is important with that icon, rewards, features or new mechanics, Earthen are an allied race which is a feature of the expansion, you would think they would want to make it easily identifiable what is needed to unlock them. Anyways I’m done with this discussion, this forum seems to be fully of people who seem to not give a crap about improving this game.
rock dwarfs aren’t improving the game
i had no trouble finding the quests, it literally tells you if the quest you’re on is part of the chain, the rest you can look up on wowhead
That’s fair enough, you think those side quests are important enough to get a pink arrow or a shield.
Blizz didn’t, I don’t, sounds like most don’t think it deserves a pink arrow, at least.
But I don’t care enough to be mad if they put a shield on them maybe. Just so long as the markers aren’t showing up every alts maps, like the pink arrows do.
Just expecting everyone to have Wowhead open at all times has reached new levels of confundiddy.
