We should have net gained threat but after the patch my threat was so noticeably down its a joke. Our OT ripped threat often where previously I’d be about 30% ahead.
If pallies can ST threat better, aoe threat better, mitigate better, dungeon tank better, and do more dps both aoe and ST then what is my purpose? Why did you nerf the already worst/2nd worst tank?

Not sure what the devs obsession with making rogue tanks so terrible, its like they intentionally want them to be miserable to play. We didn’t get a decent AoE rune until phase 4 and even then it was terrible.

Yup. We finally started feeling great in 1… 1 area, ST threat. and they ripped it away.
Blizzard made these specs so that finding dungeon groups is easier. They definitely achieved that. Most mages are not willing to heal, rogues not willing to tank though. Just the good specs help group building. It is really unfortunate that they didn’t intend to make all new specs useful.

Because trying to make rogue into a tank spec was always a huge stretch.
Like, did they even consider how combo points work when they came up with this idea?
I guess we are now just the best tank in existence, 100% avoidance by not keeping threat from the OT. Gigabrain strat.

Yeah. I’ve given up at this point. Rogue tanks just seem like the last ditch tank for groups. Let’s hope Classic+ has some better balancing for specs.
it’s not that we’re not willing to heal. mage dungeon healing is awful due to mana problems and constant drinking. Add on a go go go mentality, it’s annoying.
It’s crazy … they did like sooo many ninja hidden nerf’s in Phase 4. They nerfed our envenoms from 2.2k damage at lvl 50 to 1k to 1.5k dmg at lvl 60 full bis., Evenoms ignores armor so for those who will say armor has increased…
They nerfed instant poison from 280 dmg per tick to 100-140, from lvl 50 to 60 full biss. They nerfed backstab and ambush max damage. Now our non crit backstab do 200 and ambush 350. They also nerfed crits with a hidden mechanic. I used to crit like crazy with my 60% crit…and I’ve noticed now that i can backstab 8 times in a row and crit once. I watched the best rogue streamers and even they have it happen to them. I compared my experience for the first 3 or 4 weeks of phase 4 and now … and the streamers experience. They put a hidden cap or limitation 1000% sure. Theres no way an orc with 25% stun resist can resist 5 times in a row and i have 60% crit and none crit 7 times out of 8 backstab.
The worst part is they do all these nerfs like sneaky ninja’s and think players like me won’t notice when i play at a elite level.
The insult to injury is we are the squishiest right now… but its ok for shamans to have 9k hp 400+defense insta heals and blasting us with 2k lava burst. Paladins doing 5k damage in 2 seconds and crit heals for 4k.
also I’m sick and tired of hearing casual pvp players saying rogues are op. they are not OP… you just need to duel and learn how to beat them like all the best pvp players do. You can’t blame a class for lack of skill from lack of experience or effort.
Rogue are supposed to have amazing 1 vs 1 CC and damage . Other classes either do high damage and are fragile or low damage and super tanky. Right now we have classes that are super tanky with higher damage then rogues and the top damage dealers of the game. Everyone keeps saying yeah but rogues can stun… yeah in a 1 vs 1 situation , but you can pvp trinket, you can bubble , you can use consumables that prevent that so. Consumable in SOD cost nothing. … Free actions potions are like 1 gold for 5 on my server. the reason we need stuns is because our damage output when not stuned isn’t insane like hunters or paladins or shamans or 1 shot mages. Ret paladins right now can almost kill anyone in 1 single stun + they have lay on hands and bubble and crit heals for 4k+.
Rogue attacks can’t avoid armor and sebaceous is bad . The tanky targets have over 13 to 15k armor … whats - 2550 armor gonna do … 5% more damage? Every spell in the game is getting huge buff and spells ignore all armor…but rogues we are facing more hp armor targets that deal more damage than us. Mark’s hunters can do 2.7k shots and over 5k damage in 3 seconds … but it’s sacrilegious if a rogue does over 1k damage with a backstab? Fyi our backstab went from 1500 dmg day 1 of phase 4 to 800-1k right now on decently geared pvpers. Before anyone say’s well people have better gear now then day 1… i tested my backstab and ambushes on lvl 50’s and noticed a huge difference in damage so it was many hidden nerf’s. Also … mutilate right now is a joke. I can crit for 100 dmg on a tank. 40 energy out of 110 = to 100 dmg… how does that make any sense at all.
Blizzard stop with the hidden shenanigans… we know you do them, stop it!

I have wanted to play rogue tank all of SoD… and it has looked and felt so poorly designed all of sod that I just gave up on that dream. I was so excited when they introduced the ninja star AOE… until I used it and was like… this is negative damage. Now has a cd on it as well, which is “great”. Saw fan of knives and got excited… then to realize, it doesn’t do enough damage to even remotely keep agro… Saw that they added the fix to TIER 1 instead of making it baseline… buffing the agro of it by 100% and reducing the energy by 20… How is that a set bonus? Why isn’t that baseline to the ability? Try to use Crimson Tempest… 90% of the mobs are immune to bleeds. Greaaaaaaaaaaaat.

new phase… tank rogue looks interesting. tries it out. this is clunky AF and subpar. guess its back to dps. just doesnt work with the combo and energy system
