Can anyone from Blizzard care to elaborate? Cause really I fail to see why TBC HC would not work. I don’t know anyone who likes HC that would not like TBC HC (or any other expansion for that matter).

In other words, TBC couldn’t launch as is ready to go for hardcore. Vanilla had very minimal “1 shot gotcha” mechanics. If you died, it was most likey from a mistake.
They changed a few things to make it even more hardcore friendly. (Quests that required you to die/be dead.)
In TBC there are so many 1 shot gotcha mechanics that are sometimes completely random and unpreventable. So Blizzard would have to redo a lot of code to make it hardcore friendly. Which, means they would actually have to invest money into something to make them money…and well, they just dont want to do that when they can make money just from doing “fresh”.
Just think about it… this entire start of fresh launches is literally costing them no money in term of developer manpower. It’s already been done. They’re just slapping fresh on it and going to watch the money roll in from all the new subs they will get.
I mean, SoD could have truly been an epic thing… if the dev team wasn’t forced to work on multiple projects all at once.

Do you have a list of this? I’ve heard this argument a few times, but nothing concrete, except for Teron Gorefiend in Black Temple.
Can you provide one example of a “1 shot gotcha mechanic”, with details? Please describe how a skillful, knowledgeable, and careful player would die to a 1-shot and for this to be NOT considered a legitimate/deserved death?
Blizzard, add TBC progression to the fresh HC server. Don’t overthink it. HC = 1 death. Add code that if you die you can’t get resurrected. Leave everything else the same. Even if you can come up with “reasons” to not do it, just do it and let us players decide if it works or not. You took the “uncharted territory” approach with SoD, right? How bad can it be in HC TBC?4
