@Blizz, thank you, but...

I'm fine the paying $15 a month for access to both games. I'm more than fine it's great news. But please please please please please please please no tokens.
yea token is bad, makes gold prices so inflated, basically requires you to buy a token to get good BOEs

i'm optimistic they will keep it out, but judging by the last 3 expansions, they seem real trigger happy with the hamfisted design choices
If it is on the client then there will be token trading...you can't get away from it.

If they made it a separate game then it wouldn't be used as much...or just one way...but if the sub is shared with the same sub that can be mitigated with tokens...then that is bad.
As long as you can only sell the token for gold in BfA, it shouldn't be an issue.
I can't imagine that they will be working their way into Classic. You can still earn gold and buy them in BfA.

They wouldn't even work until much later after release anyway. Otherwise, you'd buy a token on day one, and be able to earn a total of 7 silver & 14 copper pieces because nobody has money yet.
I don't see them being unlocked in Classic for a while.
Don’t use live tokens as a reference. That game is bloated with gold.

The subscription is going to be tied to tokens due to being able to pay the sub with live gold. Buying and sell gold/tokens in Classic won’t have that old growth of unchecked gold farming. Tokens won’t have the same impact.

Wrong.
Buying/selling tokens in Classic is 100% a trigger for me to bail. I'm fine if they allow Retailers to pay for a sub that incidentally includes Classic, but when those tokens hit the Classic AH's, I'm out.
the shared sub lets you get tokens in retail to use to pay your sub.
No need for tokens in classic if you also get access to retail.
Where did they say Classic is gonna have tokens?

I believe they said classic is going to share the sub with retail. A consequence of this is that if you use tokens to extend your subscription with retail, it extends it for classic too

Which seems to be the case. So if you REALLY want to, you can play retail to play Retail and Classic for free.
Selling Lionheart Helm 2 tokens on retail...easy...

And people see this as a problem?
Just because you can buy a token to extend your subscription, doesn't mean you can buy a token IN CLASSIC, with CLASSIC GOLD.

a) there's nothing to suggest you could do that.

b) There's NO MARKET to afford tokens.

c) Having Classic with it's own token market makes no sense.

There's nothing to suggest that tokens bought and paid for in Retail will have any affect in Classic whatsoever.

Pretty sure Blizzard is conscientious of this fact.

Classic, again, still, is not a "cash cow" for Blizzard. It's falls in the realm of WC3, D2, and SC Remastered. It's an act of good will.

It will pay for itself simply by those coming back to play in the beginning. There's no reason to have any of the "cash shop" items from the stores in Classic. Retail will supply all of those needs for players.
Sure you can...if you have retail and pay for the sub..with tokens or otherwise you can simply get people who play classic to buy tokens for you on retail...not that hard.

Just because in retail tokens are 100k or something doesn't mean that it will be in classic. Since classic is harder to make gold it will scale down. if you ever played EQ progression servers you will know this is the case. As time goes on the tokens will be more expensive..but will still be converted.
There's a 99% chance the token will only be available to trade on current Retail. No way in hell will they let you trade Vanilla gold for tokens.
You can sell Classic gold in return for gold @ BFA = token.
Basically selling gold.

You give me X gold in vanilla
I give you token worth amount of gold in bfa.
You basically sold me gold for 15$.
I buy lots of tokens (sell to turn into gold) and sell them for gold to classic players. Making it so I buy gold legally under blizzard approval.

Ways to counter.
Separate subscription
Token only apply to BFA
Blizzard heavily monitoring gold transactions or something.
