Blizz tells gamerrant they want Wrath to "Feel like vanilla"

Kinda gets me hyped for Classic Cata because we might get a different version with the old school talent trees instead of the system we got in Cata.

Cata still had the current tree system, they just compressed it. MoP is when they completely overhauled it.

It wasn’t the same. You had to get to the bottom of the tree before you could spend points in another one.

They aren’t going to keep that system because to do so would cause so many balance issues it would be nuts.

It’s not that they’re taking it away, it’s that they’re not putting it in. AKA; they don’t want to do the work.

That’d be more work.

Again, that’d be more work they’d have to do. We can’t have that.

Implies they’re working.

Hmmm where have I heard that before?

I mean have you seen them mess with the talents yet in a Classic version?

All I’m saying is they have shown little interest in recreating systems that have long since been painted over in retail.

LFD as it was in WotLK is not coming to classic.
The Quest markers as it was in wotlk are not coming to classic.

But its totally bonkers to think that Blizz isn’t going to do the same on a version of talent trees that you admittedly know already will be changed in MoP for one expansion of Cata?

Its got everything to do with money and its not cost effective to pay the devs to recreate a system that is only going to be used for one year at best.

No joke getting rid of LFD was bad enough now quest helper too really I mean yeah sure everyone uses questie but that’s not the point I was looking forward to you know not using it and wrath.

Because the quest helper UI is a lot better This is so aggravating the reason why Ralph was so good was the accessibility end as they keep on saying approachability and all they’re doing is making it less approachable.

leveling 1-60 is literally 5% of the game, if not less.

Typically quotes are reserved for things that were actually said. Not things that you invented.

This functionally wasn’t a big change because you would almost never not rush to the bottom of the tree first in WotLK.

Don’t make a lick of sense to me some of the ideas going on at Blizzard. Think this will be a hard pass for me.

I just don’t get it.

Classic and TBC they didn’t want too add features from other expansions and now we get to Wrath and they don’t want to implement features from the expansion itself.

“You get the bag and fumble it.”

If they wanted to make expansions seem more like Vanilla they should of started with Cata Classic.

We aren’t even getting Wrath at this point.

Class changes. Balance changes. Racial changes. System changes. Mob changes.

Depends on how the code is. Keep in mind most of the changes, not all but many of them, also save them time. I’m sure the code they will use for Cata will have those changes already done so the extra work would be in undoing it and keeping what they currently have.

The work in delivering a new classic version isn’t really in the content itself but rather getting the systems working with the newer version they run on. It would be a rather large amount of work to keep Cata’s talents as the current WotLK system because everything was tuned based on that Cata crunch and lock they did.

I mean its not impossible I’m just not sold they would spend that kind of time on it unless going forward from Wrath they intended to do a complete redevelopment of every expansion going forward into a " vanilla like " state.

I wish people would stop using words that they do not understand.

OK the rest of them I get what you’re saying but how are they doing class changes exactly ?

I mean to my understanding they haven’t really changed anything with classes so I’m curious to what you mean by that ?

Literally all they had to do was just launch Wrath as it was, what’s wrong with them?
