They have a habit of keeping future plans close to their chest for too long. But I agree, it would be nice to know where anniversary realms in particular are heading, what plans they have to keep the original trilogy’s games “fresh.” I think it’s corporate bullcrap that prevents them from discussing openly with the community about where they want to go.
Stopped playing anniversary at level 35 until we get an update… farming raid consumables on Era while it’s slow/quiet until paid character transfer service is restored.
My guess is the anniversary servers will stay permanently TBC.
I don’t think they mentioned them going beyond TBC but thay doesn’t really mean anything.
Thinking to the future it makes sense that they only released a few anniversary servers if they plan to keep them TBC so we don’t end up with a bunch of servers like on ERA.
Yeah its weird how little info they give us. I was waiting for them to fix logout door skips for weeks. Only to find out they stealth fixed it a few days ago.
As much as I’ve lost faith in blizzard over the years I’m still a bit shocked by this recent blunder.
How stupid is it to not inform players what they can expect with these realms and their characters they are investing time into?
I quit anniversary at lvl 45 and I know many others who have done the same because they aren’t interested in TBC. We just wanted a fresh classic so would LOVE the option of sending these characters to Era once it ends
Why is this info so hard to reveal so people know whether to waste their time or not?
If they are saving this info to release as some big announcement then they are out of touch goons.
Agree 100% maybe they are getting ready to announce something soon, I certainly hope so. Classic Era is my main hobby, it matters to me what happens to it.
My biggest hope is that they will offer the clone service so that I can transfer my character at the end after Naxx to era.
If they do not do this, that’s totally fine. It doesn’t stop me from playing and experiencing fresh as it is in this moment because I find it fun, so I don’t feel like I’m wasting my time even if they decide not to do that, but I think they should and it would be the most ideal route for me.
I do not like TBCC, I had my fun with it, but ultimately it isn’t one of my favorite expansions to exist in. It means that if they end up not offering a clone service, then I will just end my subscription when TBCC hits. Hopefully Blizz notices that people like me are out there and they do us a little favor.
it repeats the same problem they did before though. The servers should never have been forced to continue to the next expansion and vanilla, tbc, and wrath should have always had 1 era server that lasted for each. its the forced transitions that are stupid.
The benefit of waiting until they get to whatever point will determine what’s better for their company outweighs whatever benefit there may be in committing to anything now, probably.
Classic-Era is not going anywhere, and is completely unrelated to Anniversary realms.
If anything, they might give the option for transfers from anniv onto Era, but not the other way around.
Classic-Era is preserving their current recreation of the vanilla game mode, and it’s been stated that they’re going to simply maintain Era servers as long as the game is continuing.
