Swtches M+ to death counter, so ideal comp becomes 3 tanks 2 healers, no need for squishy dps. All players love this new playstyle because the fights and instances last so much longer! It’s a whole new game.

Could you imagine the egos of all the “big man” tanks who always need to be the one that holds aggro? Lol. It’s a mess in LFR when you get a guy who taunts right after you taunted off of him. Imagine adding another tank that doesn’t know the term “off-tank”?

It would be both frustrating and hilarious.

I think the idea is hilarious to joke around and play devil’s advocate with but I don’t think we will see it happen.

What they really need in M+ is keystroke limit or to really up the challenge the dungeon music can be changed to a looped Rick Roll and volume control disabled.

Ideal comp might actually be 5x prot pally. They could heal each other and someone would have bubble taunt for every pull.

What if every player rerolled prot pally and there was only one spec in the game?

If they move to a death limit but starting a key also opens a mini-window that plays Pauly Shore movies until you finish then I think people would be compelled to avoid waiting on cooldowns between every pack or bringing 5 tanks.

It could even get worse as the key ranges increase. Levels 2-4 could be Pauly Shore and then the Carrot Top Standup affix could start in at +5 and above.

I’m sure there will still be ‘traditional’ runs with 3 dps, all doing hard cc on a different mob in the pack. Wait, sorry. 3 mages so that all dps can spam Poly, no other classes welcome. Paladin/druid as the tank and healer to Repentance/root. And those runs will take longer than the 0 dps ones.

All these attempted changes to M+ just make it sound like they’re going to take 2 hours per run because people couldn’t handle a damn interrupt or stop.

Why would I invite squishy mage or hunter when I could invite another prot pally?
EDIT: Read your comment more carefully and caught the nuance. Yeah, I can see that.

You won’t, but groups formed by the people who gush over how ‘skillful’ they and dungeons were back in the days of hard CC. Pressing one button to delete a chunk of difficulty out of every pull is a thing people miss somehow.

And if you aren’t a class with the favored hard CC then you can automatically GTFO any attempted group invites, nostalgia worshippers like to forget that bit.

Big defensives and cooldowns still have a time limit on them. Things have to die before you run out of ways to be defensive.

So 3x prot and 2x Ret

Nope. For one, prot pally never really runs out. For two, all the prot pallies can take turns using bubble taunt and even BoP, since aggro would go to another tank. We can heal each other and taunt trade and never really be in danger. Whatever ++ you could manage to live with dps in the group, you could live higher with 5 prot pallies. Only reason you ever need dps is to kill stuff faster.

Mates and i fidded with this as a joke, 615 therabouts, ideal comp was 3 prot 2 ret(lightsmith for aoe heal passive) 3 templar tanks doing 800k trading taunts while the rets did 1.2mil… highest doable key was arak 12… this isnt even a joke build anymore, death limit legitimizes this tactic.
Why bring a healer?

That’s kind of what we have now.

Oh my god, those are so funny. They’re determined to prove they can tank it alone. I don’t think they realize nobody even notices their little ’flex’ other than the other tank.
