Blizz! Remove Sharding!

War Mode and server should be the ONLY thing that separates you from seeing other players. If you are repeatedly getting deleted by some overgeared PVP bro. You should 100% be able to come back on any character you have on that same realm! Not even just for pvp concerns. But for the liveliness of the game. It feels so damn empty. The only time the game feels alive is when you’re either in town or when a WM supply crate raid comes through. But then leaves just as quick. Its a sad state and sharding is not needed.

Is this WORLD of Warcraft or is it Area of Warcraft? Zone of Warcraft? Instancing of Warcraft?

I don’t think they should get rid of sharding cuz that is important to keep you from lagging, BUT I do think you should be able to choose which shard you want to be in. And there should be VERY high caps to those shards, so that if folks want to cram into the most popular shard, they can. Unless it’s so bad that it literally crashes the server.

If it comes down to sharding or world PvP, sharding is an important part of being able to play the game and world PvP isn’t.

Meanwhile, as someone who plays on Moon Guard, please god, bring sharding back to capital cities on RP servers.

It’s not been as bad as it was for awhile there, but ~2 seconds of lag constantly every day in Stormwind while no event is happening and the trading post hasn’t recently rolled over to a new month is insanity.

I still think Blizzard broke something on accident, as it was normal until 11.0.5, but it was consistently awful for MONTHS after that, and if sharding would have fixed it, I’d have greatly preferred that to an unplayable city.

I understand why its not used. Don’t care. The game working matters more.

I think you’re on the wrong forum. These are the forums for a game called Alliance and Friends. It’s a pretty cool game even though they seem obsessed with appealing to the Roblox demographic, you should try it out

That’d work too. Its just too fractured right now. Even if it weren’t for pvp. I can’t even hang out outside The Incontinental with some people. Hop on another character and come back out too the same people. Thats ridiculous. It should at least be account specific shards. But all this just sounds like realms with extra steps. So they might as well just not have shards.

Removing sharding would be an exquisite way to make multiple zones a crash fest due to lag.

Events on Moon Guard are always “fun” too. Each time they release them with no sharding, and then inevitably turn it on for the events after a week of us playing a slide show and crashing the server because we are trying to shove every person on the shard in the same place.
