Bulk Character Transfers

We donât have the final sizes, pricing, and date these new bundles will become available just yet, but weâll let you know all of that as soon as possible.
This isnât something the players should have to pay to get off dying realms. Action and response is needed. Offer FREE transfers.
BUMP
No help. No saving us from dead realms.
Solution is simple. And Iâll get this response when opening a ticket.
TRANSFER.
I refuse. The solution for Multi-character transfer shows us that Blizzard only understands one language $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
We should do the same.
Too many impatient people have paid a company to do nothing to support their game.
The Great Paid Migration scam in full effect.
They chose poorly.
If Blizz offers a free transfer then people will just overstuff a different realm. Then those guys will transfer and overstuff a different realm. Then those guys will transfer and overstuff a different realm.
But before you say âThen they should limit transfers!â Yeah, that sounds great until youâre the one left out because you didnât get to join your friends or your guild because you waited too long. Any buddy system will be abused and we all know it. The answer is obvious, itâs just that no one wants to do it. We need CRZ. If you look at the overall population we are ~47% ally and ~53% Horde. CRZ is the only thing to prevent realm imbalance.
I concur. Seriously, so many servers are dying on the vine. I cannot no matter how hard find groups to run ANY lowbie dungeons, and its even harder to get into level 70 dungeons now. So many people have just stopped playing the game. You canât even progress in some areas that require you running through certain dungeons or instances because you canât find anyone to group with. This is just falling on Def ears with Blizzard. Even my guild sadly isnât showing up anymore, and it use to be fun running with them. No one is playing the game. Just merge already for crying out loud.
Retail has the server mergers you desire.
Update on Rattlegore - Horde have now transferred off en masse.
Alliance population at 2pm on Saturday was 19 total players
Our guild is the only remaining 25-man on the server, and we are losing players we cannot replace at an unsustainable rate.
We have players that CANNOT transfer because of the cooldown period, because they had fled dying servers TWICE ALREADY.
Merge the dying realms, force us to change names/take away our guild bank - just make the game playable!
Gonna bump this crap every day until my sub expires, BLIZZURD PLOX
The only way for them to fix this issue is when the short-term gain from transfers gets eclipsed by the long-term loss of subscriptions from players unable to play an MMORPG as a single-player game.
Always remember: This is not your fault. Itâs blizzards.
Players can only operate within the confines that Blizzard creates. Player-made problems are Blizzard-made problems.
Bump.
This is a Blizzard created problem, not a player problem.
Leave one empty server though. Somedays I donât want to deal with any of you people. >.<
In absolute agreement with original post, how many times must we ask for merging low pop servers and still nothing is acknowledged and/or done?
You took advantage of all the inpatient people willing to throw money at a problem you have done nothing about.
Patience is a virtue many struggle with, but your organization is pushing it to the limit.
Looks like some of us will have extra money this holiday season and more time to invest in other ventures in life.
Cheers!
One-hundred percent agree with you on this one mate.
In times like these, I think we kind of need radical solutions.
the fact that hundreds of posts can be found begging for server merges without response is frustrating. I canceled my wow account today. I transferred from a dead server to a medium pop server, and with the mass exodus from my current server, we can no longer find people to pug the holes in our raid group. I am not paying to move again. itâs just wrong that they do not care. I no longer want to give them my money. Itâs sad. classic TBC is dead.
Multi-Faceted Solution
-
CAP character creation / transfers to a server PER FACTION when it reaches a given % of population dominance (around 60% tops?).
-
Offer free transfers from low pop realms that need to be closed to a given target server which is in need of members of the given faction (everyone from your faction on your initial realm must go to the same new server, in an attempt to maintain server communities BY FACTION as best as possible).
-
Consider closing these extreme low pop realms after transfer window completed. Leftover untransferred characters are in limbo until they return or automatically assigned to the new realm?
-
Consider shoring up servers for which the free transfers did not get the numbers down into the acceptable balance range by offering additional free transfers if needed FROM server factions with excess members TO those still in need of a faction to top everything off as best as possible. In the very least we would hope that over time with the cap / lock on the major faction that the remaining imbalance would slowly resolve itself.
-
BONUS: in the event Blizzard is concerned that those playing on the EXTREMELY low pop servers actually enjoy their âclan alone in the woodsâ social experiment, open one new server, or repurpose one of the old low pop servers instead of closing it and title it as a LOW CAPPED server that has a maximum number of player slots on either side. - Server transfers to and from this realm would never be allowed, to help prevent abuse of AH economy via transfers, this would be made clear from the point of character creation on these realms. The only transfer allowed would be the initial one TO this realm during the process for those interested as an alternative transfer option. This server would not try to maintain a 60/40 ratio, but rather have a single flat hard cap at the peak of what is considered âLOWâ for each faction. So if a low pop server = 1,000 players for instance, there would be 500 horde slots and 500 alliance slots (accounts not characters) full stop.
Seeing a weird argument from folks that layers âruinedâ classic but they want one big mega serverâŚ
Did they think mega servers wouldnât also have to be layered? Thereâs no layers on med to low pop servers.
