I have been mercing and there is an addon now that tells the group who the mercs are and they get voted afk. This isnt fair at all

Sounds like a player problem, or an addon problem. Blizzard doesn’t code addons, so I’m not sure what “Blizz” can do. They certainly cannot “get rid of the new merc addon”, as your title suggests.
Yeah, some players aren’t. But every player has a different set of rules for “what FAIR is”, so Blizzard cannot enforce any of those rules.

Blizzard can definitely get rid of addons. They control the API so they can break addons that don’t follow the ToS.
I wouldn’t condone any of this toxic behavior and those using the addons in order to kick people like this should be banned imo. Merc mode is also toxic. I have seen so many merc healers especially that just run headfirst into the Horde zerg not even attempting to help in BGs.

I mean, I don’t know about this one specifically, but yeah they absolutely will break an addon if they don’t like what’s going on there.

Seems like a super Karen thing to do to actively search for mercs tbh. But unfortunately, I don’t think there’s much Blizzard can do.

That’s why you don’t have a tree to live in any more.
If it happens again make sure you take a screenshot of the conversation to show that you are being harassed because of an addon and submit a ticket.
