Ret paladins have been steam rolling everything lately and its making allot of people want to quit the game. They have 3 lives and tons of self healing. I have seen so many undergeared Ret paladins out heal healers in PvP while still out dpsing even the highest geared people.
You think you have them then boom they bubble and heal to full… you get the low again, nope lay on hands and full again… you get the low a 3rd time then boom second bubble… you are finally get thing them low for the 4th time then bam they are slamming that word of glory over and over healing to full over and over. finally they walk away from the key board for a drink after wiping out your entire time 1v9.
but no, its totally balanced.

I’m surprised no one has abused ret/sub rogue in arenas yet
Think it’s weird to complain about Ret when there are plenty of stronger specs. Not to mention Ret has the worst mobility. I don’t play Ret btw just saying it’s not even close to the most broken specs.

Ret is ridiculous on small scale fights, you should never ever lose a 1 on 1 as a pali, and can win most 2 v 1s. They tend to fall apart in bigger BGs where more people can focus fire, but trying to kill a ret solo is just futile.
There are some classes that are OP in small scale fights, and suck at large scale, and visa versa. There isn’t really a class that’s king at both. My boomkin is ridiculous in epic BGs, and I often top the damage charts, but that class suffers one on one against classes that can keep a lot of uptime on you.
/shrug. Balance doesn’t mean everyone is good at everything in the same measure, it’s about strengths and weaknesses. As tough as palies are, they are toast against kiting and dispelling.

Rets are the class that can easily 1v5 or struggle to 1v1. The main factor is the enemy, I easily wipe away bad players who blow everything within the first second of combat. But on the flip side a player who recognizes my ret’s weakness is a real struggle to deal with.
To simply put it, use all defense cds when they pop wings, kite and cc. After our burst we really don’t have much going for us.

you do realize that Ret is broken op right now? the Kyrian Covenant ability is letting Rets 1 shot people with wings
The only specs that might be better than ret in pvp are SP, Aff Locks and Sub Rogues…that’s a small list. Also Dks and Enhance Shaman would like a word with you on mobility issues, in fact I can probably count on one hand let alone one finger on how many Enhancement Shaman I’ve seen in PvP the past 4 years.

Not true. First the only thing Ret has is dmg. Period! If that gets nerfed the spec is once again mediocre in a world where every spec really performs better than them. Not sure how you could of left Mages off that list too. Warrior will also perform way better than Ret when the PvP season starts. Monks are also far more broken.
The Ret complaints are laughable honestly in a world where there is so many other specs that can do just about everything better.

Again if Rets were mediocre, there wouldn’t be people playing them. You want a garbage melee class play Survival Hunter, Outlaw (in pvp) or Enhancement Shaman.

Every none 20 IQ Ret player expects Kyrian Covenant to be nerfed cause guess what, dur it’s OP.
Also if you lose to a none frost mage as a Ret you should probably /uninstall WoW.

If their dmg is nerfed they would be mediocre again since they don’t have a great tool kit compared to other specs. You guys are silly. This is why on Beta Ret asked for better class design, mobility and better tool kit because they are 1 nerf away from being terrible.
Ret has burst, that’s it. It’s a very shallow spec. If you are dying to Ret you clearly aren’t countering their burst then killing them.
You can dispel their discount shield.

Ret is absolutely strong, but it has weaknesses. It’s not sub rogue.

So, your argument is that Ret is overpowered because one covenant ability with one conduit has a less than 50% chance to do a lot of damage - at a time when damage in PVP is very bursty in general. Your supporting evidence is a video of Savix beating randoms in skirmishes.
I don’t think you need to be accusing others of not knowing about Retribution PVP, lol.
