Why are locks this OP?
Coil doesn’t DR with fear…
They don’t die…
They can 100-0 you with 2 CB…
They can CB in a 2sec DR fear for 250k…
They can spam roots every and anyone…
OH you pop CDs on your go with my healer trapped? that’s ok ill just Dark Soul and make you run.
how has blizz not fixed this issue it’s impossible to push 3’s atm cause every comp has a lock that is just face smashing to glad. this is the reason why people don’t play arenas anymore. You’re a multi billion company. Just hire someone to balance and fix it. this is getting stupid.
The weird thing is I actually think design-wise, locks are super well done. They have a ton of tools, they have a clear inherent weakness in design (mobility) when compared to other classes & largely rely on CB for high-end pressure.
Tuning wise it’s just a catastrophe. Very tanky & very high damage output with limited need for any sort of forethought (i.e. there’s really no drawback for instantly breaking your fears with chaos bolts, just like there’s really no drawback for instantly gpieing a poly target). I hope if Blizzard does take a look at destro moving forward they don’t prune the tools the class has and instead recognize the need to tune (1) the haste the enables insanely fast casts (2) the tankiness which is pretty insane and (3) some of the numbers with VR CBs.
Clothies need to be clothies at some point. Locks need to be squishy. Not super squishy that should be reserved to Mage. Just squishy where they need peels and externals to stay up.
I hope in the class fantasy and design at some point we can work on removing some mobility from melee. Removing most healing from Dps. Then being able to remove bandaids like dampening.
There needs to be class roles. If you have cloth for armor you need to take high damage. If you are a Dps you need to have a healer.
Do you think warriors/pallys/dks should also move very slowly and have very limited mobility? Since you know, they are walking around in plate armor I do not see it making sense that they can Charge/Leap/etc around. Definitely should remove all of warriors mobility imo.
Honestly always hated heroic leap. Besides that though things like Fury right now shouldn’t be healing. It should be a relentless attacker yes but if they line their healer for 8 secs should get blown up. They should only be a wrecking ball with a healer behind them.
Rogues… they are stealth why do they have healing? Why do they have best CC and utility to go with burst from a free open? I would remove ALL of their healing so a rogue that vanishes comes out of that vanish the same HP he went in. Unless he wants to bandage.
I would balance around the old days where everyone doesn’t have everything. I just don’t get why most Dps have healing. Then we added new classes like Monk and DH into the mix which are just a nightmare for this game. They have no place in it from a design standpoint.
It gets off topic because Locks need to be squishy and then people are trying to justify how does that happen when X has X. The fact is there needs to be a lot of major changes.
Destro takes 40% more damage in PvP would be a good start. If they push middle of the map without cross CC they should get deleted.
Locks out in the open should be free kills without peels or healing. They are supposed to be fragile and require a team to back them up.
Locks by design need to be one of the tankier classes, this isn’t new. From the days everyone did 30% less damage to them to now where they leech dumb amounts
I was playing MLM at the start of the season. Atm kinda just queueing random stuff at random times, lot of people seem sorta burned out with the game atm.
I’m not against nerfing locks - I think overall they’re the strongest single spec atm with a few others close behind - but I also think it’s worth noting that a lot of times when X spec has a lot of tools people say “remove x, y, z” which is how we ended up with such a pruned game. All I was saying is with a few key nerfs destro could feel pretty well constructed as a spec.
So are you saying that destro and only destro is the reason why your 2100 with 600 + games.
I’m just saying that there might be a lot of other issues and before you go you’re a warlock blah blah blah I play demonology in arena.
Did corruption take a strong spec and make it insane?? Yes but seeing how there’s little to no chance of them doing anything about it I would suggest you get used to using spite against destruction warlocks and force them to corruption strip or die.
I actually do agree, more with Saydar. The tuning is what’s horrible for destro. I don’t care that they have a lot of tools. But things like flashpoint, ridiculous haste amps or just other corruption effects are incredibly strong on a spec that was already T1 since 8.1.
The defensive tuning has also been off. I don’t think it is entirely flawed fundamentally, but I really feel their tuning could have been played around with so much more. There could have always been a sweet spot for them
But ya tuning has just been a joke, flashpoint has always been stupid imo, and corruption just is crazy for destro on ladder. It’s hard to have a bad corruption effect.
I like your ideas about Rogues. I’m a BC Arena player and have always maintained that perspective as a comparison. Back then, Rogues had many strengths – but no healing. And it worked well. It is infuriating to see a rogue emerge from stealth at full HP.
What used to happen was a good Mage / Rogue in 2’s knew to peel for the Rogue in case of a bad opener. The rogue would cloak off my DoTs, sprint off somewhere, and eat.
BUT. I could target him with my pet. I could do something. My druid could run and moonfire him. Stealth? lol.
