Blizz needs to make professions even more tedious in War Within

Don’t give them any ideas.

Why not? I want to give them plenty of great ideas, the kind that will make more people quit. Afterall plenty of dumb ideas on the forums daily like the 'Hide pants" thread that seems to be a weekly thread.

I mean it’s possible to just buy a zapthrottle soul inhaler. I didn’t want to spend the points to unlock the recipe early on and they aren’t BoP. They were even being sold for less than the mat cost at the time.

There was an overhaul for the crafting system, and I think it was needed. But yes, some people had issues with it at the start because it was new and they couldn’t just do the straightforward skill grind anymore. If it had been this way for several expansions already, there wouldn’t have been an issue.

I guess you could also have just bought the toys since they aren’t BoP either.

How did BlizZard mess up professions so bad in dragon flight…

like what were they thinking???

The Zapthrottle Soul Inhaler is bind on use, so you can buy it from the AH. You’ll also need to buy some Empty Soul Cages to use with the Soul Inhaler.

Funny enough those were my two professions in WotLK.

The lack of any catch-up mechanics kind of kills professions for anyone trying to jump into them late.

Yes, it is. Unrecoverable mistakes are one of Ions “RPG elements from the roots of wow” that he loves to inject into the game.

I recall them telling players that professions were going to be THE casual pillar of content for all casuals.

Yup. I dislike this profession system too. Shame they’ll be keeping it mostly same.

They included some extra knowledge points here and there but it isn’t really enough (nowhere near enough).

It’s something to do
Mats to turn in for profession quests ect
You assume wrong if you think I really care about making a lot of gold in wow.
What does one need with a lot of gold for? Buying carries?
I rarely buy anything anymore and anything I buy is pretty cheap and could be bought with questing gold.

Fair enough maybe you don’t purchase anything. But there are costs for playing, such as:

  • Transmog (I change my mog once or twice a day at ~500g a pop).
  • Repair costs (I do a lot of M+ and raiding and this adds up)
  • Enchants and gems
  • Crafted gear
  • Consumables (pots, flasks, food, vantus runes, augmentation runes)
  • Legendary weapon for strength classes this xpac costed 1-1.5m gold

If you’re SUPER casual and do none of these things / or end game content, maybe you don’t have the same costs. But I wish professions were better so I could offset these costs in a meaningful way.

Right now, the most efficient way of getting gold is world quests…although they recently nerfed that too.

I’ve never bought carries so far, don’t know why this was your first assumption lol.

But if you’re having fun, do whatever you want of course!

I am casual
