Seeds of Renewal! How exciting!

Troll and Draenei customization! “Hooray!,” we all cried, knowing full well the kinds of things the community has been asking for - beards for male trolls and fel-cracked manari skin for draenei! Can’t wait to see what they look like!..

God damn it, blizz. Why? Why put out these flashy banners that you know will get people excited for very specific things, only to immediately reveal the mediocre reality? It’s only ever going to leave people feeling disappointed and bitter. Hell, you just did this same thing with those “blood elf customizations” in 10.2! You know how badly players want vastly improved character customisation and at this point it just feels mean.

Now just give it to Lightforged, as well.

Also: getting hyped up for stuff from Blizz is a mistake. Look at “holiday refreshes.”

Oh wow that’s a lot less than I thought it would be. Hmm. I read troll & draenei customizations and assumed that both trolls and draenei would be getting customizations plural but what they really mean is troll customizations and draenei customization. But I guess the plurality comes from the entire set of customizations added to either troll or draenei.

Right? It’s literally SO easy to recolor models, it’s not worth the big headlines. Sure, you can add it to the patch notes so people know. But this is nothing even close to special.

I’m not discounting that people might be psyched for these things. I’m happy you’re happy. But honestly my first reaction when I saw that skin colour was, “Don’t they already have that?”

To be fair, with how infrequently we got new customizations in the past…any is “special.” But I agree, these are nothing really to brag about.

Well one could say players should calm down with being triggered upset or just plan judgmental over every single thing blizzard does.

And before my post is called rushing to blizzards defense or the over used “white knight” bs… it’s called being a rational mature human being.

Anyone that literally criticizes every single solitary thing one does is beyond the standard “well I’m a customer I’m expressing my opinion “

Also it’s called marketing it’s literally that professions job description to make eye catching or attention grabbing ads .

I don’t see the OP throwing a tantrum, calling people names, flipping out, etc. I’d call that being a “rational mature human being.”

No reason why a “rational mature human being” can’t be irritated by some advertisement sensationalism.

In general yeah. But being disappointed isn’t being “triggered”. It’s a pretty regular reaction.

That logic makes sense for ads that are supposed to attract new customers to a thing. That is not the purpose of those flashy banners though. Those are supposed to excite an existing base of subscribers. We’re not reading “troll and draenei customizations” then going and buying their product. We’re reading it, then thinking about all the obvious customisations the player base has been asking for for ages, and getting excited. Sure, technically it’s on us for making those assumptions. But blizz could just have easily have written “new hair colors for trolls and a skin color for draenei”.

It’s all extremely lame, over-hyped as usual.

It’s barely anything at all.

I’m not sticking around, DF is over lol.

There’s other, actual-quality games out there, no reason to stay, imo.

I’d come back if they actually put in work for stuff like troll beards. Or housing. You know, something that tells me it’s not gonna be more of the same.

But nah, path of least resistance, always.

Don’t think I don’t see you getting cheaper, Blizzard. :eye::eye:
