Blizz made it harder to get the horseman mount

Why are healers having to DPS their clones? (with shadow curse) This seems odd, I joined to heal, not to be forced into a DPS check. Yes, I know that one is optional, but is there any other encounter where a healer is required to DPS as a mechanic? I just re-subbed a few months ago so just seeing if this is the norm now for healers.

Yeah the whole issue is not the low drop rate itself, it’s the combined effect of that low rng on top of a very limited time frame to attempt it.

That last boss of ahn’kahet, 2nd boss of shadowmoon burial grounds. Just to name those two off the top of my head.

There are a few examples in the game’s history of “Everyone gets a clone they themselves have to handle” and usually the healer version is specifically tuned to take less damage to get rid of.

As a general philosophy change though, yes. Since blizzard made the vast majority of healer damaging abilities free or neutral on mana it’s kinda become expected that if you’ve got nothing better to do you can contribute some globals of damage instead of waiting for the next thing to heal. Mechanics that explicitly require a healer to do damage though are generally quite rare.

So happy I got the mount back in 2009. Usually what drives me crazy is trying to get the helm. This year Blizz seems to want my warlock to have it. Lock got 4 of them while my DK and warrior look at him side eye.

Oh and no pup yet.

What is it about following mechanics in the game that is so unbearable?

The mechanics are literally no different from raid mechanics that we’ve had nearly since WoW’s inception.

Get out of bad. Run to the glowing sphere. Get out of more bad. And yet even more bad. (That was huge in Cata btw) Kill the adds.

This has been raiding and heroics 101 since the game began. They added mechanics to the fight and made it less grindy and boring. Now you actually have to pay attention.

Sure you could make the argument this is an event boss and it shouldn’t have heavy mechanics - and I get you. That’s why they’re optional. The fight is more rewarding for people who are willing to fail a few times in order to learn how to do it so that next time they can do it better.

The pet seems to have pretty high drop rate as far as I have seen. I got it on the 2nd run and saw it drop a few times over 10 characters.

Id love to see the numbers on how many per day got the mount in the old system, and how many get the mount per day in this system.

Or, people on their 10th alt with no gear could opt not to take the curses and bang out the easy version.

I domt see it man. Ive done almost 20 cursed runs everyday and the only toon wuth semi decent gear is this ret (my main) all my other alts have either dreambound or gear from when they dinged 70 from timewalking spamming even some have shadowlands gear still.

I just dont see what people are having issues with. As healer dps or tank you have more than enough time and dps to nuke the one add spawn before it reaches and curses and during pumpkin swirls you can just stop all dps if u want and just dodge dodge dodge swirls. If people are complaining about “hard mode” being too difficult then I dont know how they can play any other content ingame

Wickerman curses are not a gear check, they’re a “are you paying attention” check. You don’t need geared alts to complete a curse run successfully.

I already have the mount and got the pet few days ago so I don’t need step foot in that place ever again. Also, curses are easy to do and most of my toons are melee.

Well I don’t disagree but I have friends that don’t mind running it with me on their main. People that don’t have friends should probably make some if they’re having trouble with it.

This is not true.

a skill issue?
the drop rate is a skill issue?

I ran it on 9 the first day, 3 the second, 13 the third, 3 or 4 on Saturday, skipped Sunday, ran 2 yesterday and have yet to see him drop for me.

That said, 2 of my friends got him on their first run the first day they did it.

No, try reading what the OP is crying about and then get back to me.

That should be made cosmetic, like the gas mask.

“They made me push buttons!”

See if there’s a way to know percent of people with the achievement and check at the end of this event. Still wouldn’t be accurate cause the old event had been running for a long time.

I got the Mount…And the Helmet…
And as the old song says:
“…and nothing else matters!”
