I did. It was in response to me, based off of Anna’s post. The same thing I’m saying.

Yep. You’re just misunderstanding it. And I get that, due to wording. But it’s the same sentiment.

more annoying than difficult. ive done it on my toons. Didnt get a thing.

That’s an unreasonable conjecture. Blizz doesn’t publish their drop rates, so nobody can know for sure, but Wowhead does publish estimated drop rates based on player reporting or data collection via the WoW API and it’s around 0.4% as noted HERE.

For you to be right in saying “Blizz … made it a lot harder”, means that the base 0.4% drop rate was actually reduced. Reduced by “a lot” could mean 0.2%.

Contrast that with what Blizzard actually said HERE:

If you’re not a tin-foil hat conspiracy theorist, then “slightly improved odds” means the drop rate with the curse would be increased, not reduced, to something like 0.6% or possibly even 1.0%.

A 1% drop rate is technically better than 0.4%, but it’s still an abysmal drop rate that would require 298 attempts for a 95% likelihood of success, but still a 5% chance that you didn’t get the mount.

In conclusion your statement is simply in error. Blizz offered a way to make it slightly easier to get the horseman mount. The baseline drop rate without a curse is unchanged.

After all these years of getting the same holiday pets over and over (Same during christmas) while knowing everyone is limited to only 3 I would like the pets to be able to be sold for a pittance like 1 copper. much better IMO than having to type DELETE every time i get one.

In previous years, I’ve had pumpkins, wands, and brooms coming out of my ears.

This year? A couple brooms, one pumpkin, and one wand. This is with running all curses every time. From my limited personal sample size, the drop rates feel worse across the board.

I’m not agreeing with whoever you responded to, just reminding people that the curse bonus is only on first kill of the day.

This is another thing that just irks the hell out of me. Why is the methodology for the droprate so obfuscated and convoluted? It’s a freaking holiday event. They should ditch the stupid pumpkin lootboxes altogether and just put all the loot on the corpse.

The most logical thing to do would be to put it on a vendor. I’m not sure why Blizzard has this incessant need to use RNG on stupid holiday events.

They should have done all this from day 1. And the Arfus pet too. People can buy it with the candies the boss drops.

We don’t know that… and quite honestly nobody should trust Blizzards programming skills with their track record.

My only guess is that if they used a vendor, people would complain about getting it updated every year. I have no idea if that’s right but if you look at FF14, you are guaranteed the rewards and extra stuff is on a vendor BUT they also update their events literally every single year.

Literally a skill issue

I don’t mind vendor updates as long as it give players a chance to buy the mount and pets. I mean they can still have it drop of the boss but it should also be candy obtained as well from the vendor. I don’t care how much it costs just it needs 2 ways to get it instead of just one.

Kinda want to know what a draenei twinkie is… but then again, I probably don’t. LOL

Well if people are mad that they chose the harder version because they wanted it’s better odds but they didn’t want to do the harder version, the problem is in the mirror, not with the encounter.

Twinkie that is draenei shaped.

Same chance to get it as always, curse makes it easier lmao

It’s honestly one of the things I love most about FFXIV besides the MSQ. There are crystal clear paths towards obtaining almost everything in the game. If you want something, you can put the time in secure in the knowledge of how long it will take.

why don’t people realize that “they’re bad at programming” and “i’m not getting the loot i want” are completely unrelated claims
