Most people fail to understand that a number one rule when writing, drawing or anything that involves creating something is. If you aren’t happy with your own work, you don’t publish your work.
That means you need a strong backbone when you publish your work as the public is your biggest critic. You maybe happy with your work but you will always have critics no mater if it’s 5 star rating of work.
I don’t envy those who work in the gaming industry no matter if it’s graphical a 5 star or a 5 star in writing. in a game. A game needs to be fun but I’d rather have that then a blockbuster that can flop. (and lately so called blockbusters recently have flopped in my eyes)
They will hire someone with actual brain cells or they will hire someone who is a woke psychopath. I am betting on the 2nd one for sure since they seem hellbent to become so broke that Microsoft can’t save them.
This is very true. Also don’t forget that WoW has turned from something that was originally a passion project into more of a corporate money-maker. So it often does feel like the ‘soul’ of Warcraft is missing.
It depends if it has a good narrative coherence seen in fantasy books, old comics, and anime & manga.
Because there are many narrative errors that are causing lately seen in the past as Mazigner series or some 80’s grabbing the status quo out of nowhere Apart from the fact that it is only dedicated to making a 1hr and 30 min ad on inclusive trade or politics…
But the problem is that Blizzard gives him the freedom to make a good narrative without any problem, not like they did to the author of the graphic novel Maus
This is wonderful news. BfA and Shadowlands really suffered from a lack of narrative focus that, for a lot of people, directly hinged upon one character in particular that a lot of people really strongly identified with and were left alienated by a lot of different things snowballing into itself.
Surely people will be excited to see that this will undoubtedly lead to a real boost to the quality of narrative driven experiences such that I am looking forward to seeing this unfold in the upcoming expansion.
Good! The more, the better. I wish some of the old Blizzard team came back but I believe they founded a new studio and yeah, they’re pretty much gone forever.
hahaha, wow is not an AAA game. it doesnt get 50m-200m budgets to make an expansion. it’s not high profile these days. and its a well recognized company, for better or for worse, but its primarily known now for overwatch. which is an AAA game
Honestly I think if they were going to give him the job, they would have given him an opportunity to apply for it, or just flat out put him in the position, without posting the job listing. Companies don’t usually post a job listing they’re planning on filling internally.
Can things even get significantly worse though? We’re already at the point where continuity doesn’t matter, the plot is nonsense, every character is an insufferable idiot, and the current guys seem determined to tear down everything from before them that was actually liked.
I don’t know what worse than now could even look like.
