Blizz, If you have any hope of finally fixing your game

At least get feedback in Beta before you unbreak the API and allow those add-ons to return. Some people need their audio and visual queues on how to play in certain content. So work on your combat and default UI and let them see it’s going to be fine.

They don’t read the forum, you are barking alone here.

Removing combat addons already does a lot to fix the game.

if they don’t read the forum, then a lot of people are screwed, offering their feedback about add-ons :+1:

We are in Pre-Alpha.
Feedback now is absolutely necessary in all fronts possible, of course.
But I will argue they have a good direction of what they want to do, they just need to actually provide accessibility features that are going away with WA, but this requires a direct conversation with those with disabilities.
Any function WA provides, it should be in-game. Simple as.

All I want, for the most part, is my UI to continue looking like this, or at least a reasonable approximation of it.

That requires the removal of this inane Secret stuff.

The devs say they want feedback, then dont look at places of where the feedback is

They can use chatGPT or an ai software to auto filter posts that are inflammatory (especially now that Microsoft owns them) and perhaps also grow a bit of a spine as well.

To be offended, you have to give people power over your mental state after all XD

Image shown for other readers… (Trust Level 3 is a pretty high bar to post images :frowning: ).

  • The damage meter in the lower-right will be replaced by Blizzard’s version
  • If the mini-map in the top-left is the standard UI, then that’s fine (I don’t recall that the default Blizz UI allows you to move the mini-map yet). Edit: Apparently the Default UI does let you move the mini-map now!
  • Your bags look like some kind of non-combat addon, so that should probably still work

If hit “Esc” in-game and then click “AddOns” it should show you a list of what 3rd party addons you’re using… Details, DBM, BigWigs/LittleWigs, WeakAuras, Hekili, GTFO (and likely more that use RT combat info) are likely to break. Addons like Bagnon and MoveAnything are probably going to keep working.

Minimap is ElvUI. Base UI does allow minimap configuration, but does not allow much customization as ElvUI, such as using it (MiddleClick) to bring up what normally would be the MicroBar, and make it square as far as I can tell.

Thats the thing. We are seeing from actual addon devs that many non-combat aspects of their addons are breaking. What exactly does skinning my action bar do? what does creating new action bars do? Why cant I format my frames numbers?

Someone said on another thread that ElvUI is going to be broken. I am so sad right now.

I’m going to guess that the formatting isn’t the issue, it’s getting the number of chargers or cooldown time remaining or whatever that is “Real-Time Combat Info” and that API is being removed from public access. :frowning:

Exactly. The only thing breaking is going to be the timers and the combat related bits along with the chat bits. So people will actually gonna have to talk and they’re gonna have to keep track of their own cool downs, which now since there’s a cooldown manager in the default UI won’t be a problem. they’re just not going to have a little British voice or a glowing screen telling them when it’s time to stand somewhere else so they don’t die.

These are likely still going to work, but will just be re-skinning the info the built in one gives them.

However, stuff like the boss mod effectively re-naming conquer to soak is no longer going to work (you’ll have to look at the world to see that it’s a soak)

Where have you seen that “the built in one” will give them any information? That Combat Info API is private to Blizzard now, there’s no access to it during combat for 3rd party addons (or at least that’s what Blizzard has said below). I know Ion said that “customization of UI elements will still be allowed, just not auto-logic to inform the player what to do.” Ion also said (back in April) We want to roll these changes out over time, be sure we got it right, and then remove combat API access, but he’s flipped that script and is removing API access before the in-house capabilities are even fully developed let alone tested.

And how will people who cannot speak do that talking?

People withouvoices do it all the time in discord because they have software that helps them along. I have a deaf friend in my guild who uses software to communicate in voice chat all the time without a problem. If some of you people actually knew people with disabilities you wouldn’t ask questions like that.

There’s already a tech demo of bigwigs working and converting the new bossmod into their old bar style display.

They can’t see what the info is, but they can pass it to display functions, that display it in ways that people want.

Accessibility concerns aside, I want the option to create a minimalist UI like I have in ElvUI. The current refreshed stock UI is, I don’t know, too “chunky”.

What they should actually do is make, add, and test these functionalities before gutting the ones that exist. If you get rid of something without a reasonable replacement then people have every right to complain, especially when they touted for months and months that they’d add these systems, and remove stuff last. But instead are removing everything immediately without any good replacement.

They still don’t have a functional damage meter in the alpha.
