Blizz, If you don't want Healers to be expected to DPS then reduce mob HP

Don’t worry guys I can click healbot real good

This is when I wonder why Holy Priest is the only healer that doesn’t have Interrupt and doesn’t have a CC (we don’t have Shining Force anymore).

But then we have the Druid and the Shaman.
And we can’t forget the Evoker, which is the Swiss Army Knife reincarnated in WoW.

I would gladly give up some of my damage if they gave me Silence, CC, some MAJOR SHIELD that could save the tank while I heal the group … I don’t know, something.

I really enjoyed chastising stuff last season. Like, the hardcasts that won’t recast if stunned/incapped. :dracthyr_love_animated:

Pls no. The non dmg healer community would hold protests and pitch forks if that were to happen.

Yes, only when the enemy can be stunned…
I remember in BFA that most of the dungeons had some kind of undead enemy and Turn Undead (Holy Paladin) had no effect…

Why do I have skills if the enemies are going to be immune ?
Or why do we get invisibility potions or that Rogue ability when 80% of the trash can detect you ?
They give you skills that you can’t use freely…

Do people make a thread on one side of the issue, Wait a week, And then make the opposing argument on an alt?

It certainly feels like Groundhog Day

I remember playing a shockadin on my belf pally, back during og Wrath. It was useful questing and in bg’s, but I could still raid heal in ICC. Worked well.

If people were qq’ing about it back then, they were probably just expecting to be super l33t with their dps numbers… which is stupid.

Let em. I’m just saying what I like and prefer don’t care what they want.

Oh I love how dragonflight will fail just because of m+

So fine ask. Thing is, you have no right to dictate to people what the minimum standards should be for them to play the game. We are all paying the same subscription rate. Every player has equal rights to play the game they want to play as long at it is within the guidlines of the TOS.

Now if you want to have rules and regulations you can always form a guild of like minded players. But if you decide to play PUGs then you are no “more equal” than anyone else and your standards are no more important than anyone else’s standards.

So what? It’s not a job. They are not working for you. There are no rules that say you are somehow more important than another player. They are paying the same subscription rate that you are and have equal rights to decide how to play the game.

Now what you can do is form a guild of like minded players. Then among yourselves you can make rules on how to play. But you are being pretty arrogant if you have come to the conclusion that your opinion on how to play a PUG is any better than anyone else’s opinion.

I personally do not. The community as a whole is allowed to accept whatever standards they want.

The community standard is always be casting.

You sure do. That doesn’t mean other people don’t get to hold you to widely accepted standards. If you’re playing tic tac toe, you don’t get to just draw triangles or octagons.

You have it backwards. If you don’t want to adhere to accepted community guidelines, you will not be able to participate.

What community guidelines? You pay your subscription and you have to agree to the TOS. That’s it. There are no other contracts in the game where you have to click “I agree” and no “community guidlines” written down anywhere that you have to sign.

And yes I know there are people who believe they speak for “the players” although fact is they have no clue as to how the vast majority of players feel about various issues or who plays this game.

I’m not against DPSing in runs when I say this, because I do throw out damage when I am able but…

I level/quest as my healer. (Holy). Don’t take away my damage spells on this premise please :eyes:

If I and the four other players in the group decide that healers should be doing damage during downtime, we have every right to kick you.

Always be casting isn’t controversial to any adequate player.

It is not required, but it is definitely expected that you be a productive member of the group, especially in competitive content like mythic plus.

You don’t get to go to a pick up basketball game and start kicking the ball around the court. There are expectations that you are going to play the game a certain way. Other people are not wrong for enforcing those expectations

Lowering mob HP isn’t going to stop the call for support DPS, all it’s going to do is make dungeons as a whole go even faster. Groups with supports that DPS are always, always going to clear content more efficiently and faster than groups with supports that don’t. That’s just the rule of the game since damage is the only way to win a fight.

The best thing support players that struggle with this can do is to practice weaving their damage spell between their heals and get comfortable with the balance.

Reducing mob HP doesn’t do that, if you want healers to have no time to do damage, you need to make the mobs do more damage.

Would you be fine with open world dps talents (like honor talents)? It seems like that’s what some people are suggesting, unless they want healers to lose the ability to play the game by themselves?

I mean, I personally am okay with keeping it all. I use what I can in raids and dungeons even if it’s not a lot of damage, I still do some lol.
